It is alright to question making an appreciation thread after such a small number of appearances, it isn't an attack on liking the character, he has just hardly appeared at this point, and some are asking if it merits this kind of thread.
I already really enjoy the character, and the series, and as someone who draws all the time I'm looking forward to seeing David's new armor from a few more angles and done consistently, in order to draw a him to go along with the rest of the redesigned Bat-family.
I drew him in his initial armor, the exo-skeleton/flight suit that David Finch designed and debuted in Batman: The Return.
Here is my first picture of David, as he appeared when drawn by Chris Burnham in the Finch-designed flight suit from Batman, Inc. # 6
I can't wait to see the next issue, and I will continue to support David and the identity of Batwing. This title has been a great deal of fun so far, and I am confident that I'll continue to enjoy it if it keeps up the pace and quality it has had .
I haven't read the book. What's so good about it?
And I'm not being snarky, I'm genuine.
You should read it. Why because batwing is a pretty cool dude. It's set I'm a scenario that you don't often see on comics. Massacre is an interesting villain. The story is going in an interesting direction just take a look and read it :D you won't regret it.
It's just really different. It's set in Africa and the setting is really unique.
The villain Massacre who at first seems like a 1 dimensional "badass" or "extreme" villain turns out to be really interesting. He's like a weird warrior type who I don't know you have to read it I guess, it's hard to explain him.
It's a bloody book, but it doesn't feel like a shallow ultra-violent book. Atleast not to me it doesn't. Really unique book. I'd say check it out.
I also had no interest whatsoever in the book, and actually picked it up a few days after I picked up my books on the Wensday. It's a good one so far.
But that's obviously just YOUR opinion. Why come into an appreciation thread to basically ask people why they don't share your opinion?
If you don't think Batwing deserves an appreciation thread so soon, that's fine for you to think that (not that you mean my permission or anyone elses' permission to think that), but it's odd that you would act like it's odd that other people feel differently than you about Batwing after only two issues.
To come into an appreciation thread to say why are you all appreciating this character after only two issues is just weird (in my opinion).
Plus, you can't really say that NO character can be great and badass after only two issues. It depends on the character, what the character does and how the character is written.

Storm & Black Panther: The Goddess and the Demi-God
Forward with Storm and Black Panther
The Trinity: Storm, Black Panther, Blue Marvel
It is a good book, although it makes me feel kind of dirty having such graphic type of material in my collection LOL.

im enjoying Batwing. Lots of fun. New character, new setting, rooted in a character we are all familiar with. Good writing, great art. I hope this one keeps going.
Aw man,, the wait for issue five is excruciating, its like I need a Batwing fix or something.
Dorothy: How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking.
Gotta love those Wizard of Oz quotes
I was gonna work with this artist on a superhero comic that I described as 'Batman in the third world' - he thought it was stupid and cut it off. Ha!
Also, might have to start picking this up.
Nothing but props for the The Dark Avenger.

A great character. I've always thought the Bat-family should be a bit more ethnically diverse. I remember that panel in B&R when Bruce announces Batman INC, and we see him, Alfred and the Robins - a big group of rich white menKnow what I mean?
