Default Batwing (David Zavimbe) Appreciation Thread

Batwing needs his own appreciation thread. I'm really liking how his story is unfolding.

    Batwing #4 cover
As Massacre’s bloody reign of murder continues and more heroes fall, Batwing closes in on this mad villain. But with his memories stirring, Batwing’s dark past begins to emerge... At last, the truth of his past will come to light.

Sure why not? I'll appreciate. Winick seems to have some cool ideas and I generally support his stuff anyway.

I am so not a Winick fan, but between this and how Catwoman is sounding, I might convert.

Me too. I didn't know what to expect. I went in with an open mind and I'm glad it did.

The Kingdom, Africa's first superheroes, is one of the most interesting developments. I hope all of them aren't dead, but it looks like from the solicits they keep getting killed. Are any of them going to survive?

Wow! Those covers look crazy good! One issue in and I'm a fan.

And I love the concept of the Kingdom.

Great character, can't wait to read more.
You know, I kind of liked the original coloring of his suit, before it turned completly blue...

Also, is original costume sucked... a lot. Thank god it changed.

Sleeper hit of the new 52. I'm looking forward to seeing David's past and getting to know more about him.

I've only read one issue of Batwing and now stand completely hooked.

Winick has got a winner here and I intend to stay on for the long haul.

Bye bye Marvel and hello DC.

I liked the concept for this book before it came out and was even more pleasantly surprised when I finally got to read it. Judd "Hit 'n Miss" Winick seems to be on form and Ben Oliver's art along with the coloring looks amazing. They seem to have managed to produce a superhero book taking place in central Africa without resorting to cheap exoticizing, and that is an instant hit in my book. My only nitpick so far are the actual wings on Zavimbi's costume, however light they may be they would make it extremely hard for him to move properly when on the ground, especially in a fight.
