I'm afraid that I've nothing profound or even faintly amusing to add to your absolutely charming article, but I did want to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

"The next day, Saturday, July 9th, after a one-and-a-half-hour train ride, I'm in Manhattan, walking my way down from Penn Station to 14th Street, and getting that old familiar rush of anticipation, that sense of childlike wonder. When I was growing up, Saturday was comic book day."

I live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, but you made me feel nostalgic for a city I've not visited in decades, and made me feel that I'd love to visit Time Machine and spent some time quietly purchasing a few back issues there. Perhaps one day.

    Good stuff. Thank you.

I visited NY and Time Maschine in february this year. Great Store. I bought older Sandman issues. Altough i didnt find what i was looking for in the first place, i asked the guy if he got this and that and so on, and we didnt find anything so he was shaking his head in disbelive. I told him thats no problem, i dont find the issues in other shops, too. They are hard to get. But nonetheless, i bought theses Sandman books and he lowerd the price for me. I wish i had a store like this in my town.

And you know what i like most when i enter a comic store? The smell of old comics.

This is my favorite New York comic-book store, I visited it twice during my last vacation a couple of months ago. Roger is friendly, and will always give you good deals on back issues.
