I thought it was agreed that while it's hard to prove exactly how his power works..that it most likely requires activation? Going by the way he was killed doesn't that make the most sense?

I mean, I'm not trying to stir up another long debate, but surely it can't be that complicated of an issue.

Just got through watching First class again and @ 1:38:30 Shaw said not to be disturbed while he's on the Nuclear reactor. Theres another big sign of him having to focus on absorbtion.

True, though to be fair it could of also been that he doesn't want to risk something happening about that reactor..though yes I still firmly believe he needs to activate it.
