Having seen this, it seems like a group filing petitions for every state whether they actually reside in that state or not. I saw petitions for several blue states to secede so it is laughably bullshit.

Honestly these people will be looked at by history as being complete dicks. So let them act to file all the petitions they want. One of the craziest I saw was from Louisiana . Which made me go... fine you dickheads ...secede ..but when a hurricane hits don't cry to us for help and FEMA. Your on your own.

I read some poll, at least ten years ago, other countries that use socialism are happy.
It was this long drawn out study. pre internet they actually went to the different countries
and took time defining happiness.

i also remember in high school government class. (a glass studying government) The teacher said that
USSR was communist and USA was capitalist and in the future USSR would become more capitalist and USA
would become more communist.
The teacher gave me a "B" in for a grade because I would sleep in the class. It was said that my attention
was "sporadic". I remember having to look that word up.

From what I've read its not actually the States doing this just some interesting people filing and trying to get the required 25,000 signatures so the proposal will even be looked at by the Obama administration.

Yeah. The petitions are on the "We The People" site. Which allows you to start a petition for anything. This is about as meaningful as a fart in a strong breeze. Other than to show exactly what fair-weather "patriots" these Gomers are.

I was thinking about something. Some individuals made Romney's mormon faith a sticking point, but what about other mormons in Government like Senator Orrin Hatch from Utah, one of the peole who defended the right of a muslim group to bild a mosque in Manhattan( the so called ground zero mosque) on the grounds of freedom of religion, who also fought for people affected by Nuclear testing, to get compensation for the pain caused them and who supports stem cell research.Not perfect mind you and he's done a lot of shit stuff as well but just syaing nto all Mormons are bad for government like some people were making it out to be.

Someone pointed out on another site that the far right are such big fans of secession - people should get them to spell out exactyl what secession should involve including handling the national debt and what happens to army bases and other US government property in a seceding state.

Then every blue state should secede and found the New United States or the Reunited States of America.

Texas would be abotu the only state left in the Union paying more in taxes than they received in beenfits. See how they like paying for all those other states to be kept in the style to which they've become accustomed.

They thing I find laughable about state secession is how many people actually identify with their state more than they do their country? How many people have family spread over multiple states, red and blue. Also how quickly would they want to be readmitted the second one of their guys was in office?
