I wonder If Obama still would have won the Election if they Kept it to where you need to have an ID to vote in all states.

Kept it there? that was never a law that applied to a majority of states much less all of them.

There's one race that I personally find fascinating, but which I've seen garner almost zero attention: Puerto Rico's referendum on statehood.

Obviously there are a lot more ballots to be counted, but if this trend continues, this little referendum could turn out to be the most historically significant vote of the night.

Wow, that could be a big one.

If they vote for statehood, I wonder what would happen in Congress. It's not quite like DC (which I kinda think that they should just append to Maryland although it would cost the Democrats 2 presidential votes).

It's exciting without a doubt.

Personally I am surprised that DC statehood was not a top priority for the Obama administration. DC has pretty consistently drafted state constitutions and brought up statehood in the House.

Some good news on the Congressional front: Richard "it is something that God intended to happen" Mourdock, Todd "legitimate rape" Akin, and Joe "no such exception as life of the mother" have all lost.

And apparently Akin's having a live meltdown on national TV.

Adkin's campaign did provide a first for me: An election-eve robocall attacking the Libertarian candidate. (Honestly, I thought I didn't recognize the name, I thought they were talking about a different state's candidate!).

I saw a part of that live melt-down. When it became clear Akin was still campaigning, my wife hit the mute button.

I've been watching fox news coverage, facebook, and youtube reactions. I didn't know people were this insane. Not joking, it really reminds me of the atmosphere of September 11th 2001, just after the attacks when people on the radio were calling for nuclear strikes. That aura of panic was perhaps justified due to an actual attack occurring on our soil; but this was just the political process that we've all grown up under occurring. If those people were a single audience, I'd say "We lost an election. Okay. We'll get 'em next time, calm the hell down."

I know it's disappointing, I'm disappointed too, but these guys have lost their damn minds. It's not funny.

So was I the only person here who followed the last hour via the live Daily Show and Colbert Report broadcasts? From my vantage point, it was Jon Stewart who called the election for Obama about 2/3 through his show.

(Like Mike and Matt, I don't have cable, but they thankfully live-streamed the shows online.)

I have satellite (it's really not that expensive via Dish anyway). I was playing with the new iPad my wife's work gave her, so I saw HuffingtonPost call it first, than Stewart.

Obama won the popular vote. My faith in this country has been restored. FORWARD baby.
