This is something Maddow has pointed out that she sees Republicans try and calls the "I'm rubber, you're glue, argument". All of the things the opposition says about you, with facts or quotes to back up? Just go, "I know you are, but what am I?" and say them about the left, no matter how blindly false they are.

Oh yeah. they've been doing this for years. If you speak out against racism, you're the real racist. If you speak out against discrimination towards gay people, you're being intolerant of religion. Because somehow religious people have some kind of inherent right to discriminate against their fellow human beings, and nobody is allowed to say or do jack shit about it. They've used the horrible "We're the underdogs" approach sports teams use to psyche themselves up, and used it in politics and social issues.

They are social issues, not a competition to make "Us vs. Them" teams, and not use your brain to make a resemblance to any real argument.

Living off their five senses, that's what people who use that argument are doing. No brain power, and a whole lot of animal instincts.
