I tend to teeter between this general type: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDnNF5cHCdo

    and this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQRzrnH6_HY&ob=av3e

Listening to a lot of 80s pop albums, and late 90s early 2000s urban contemporary.

Ah yes, the good old days. Then in 1709 the piano got invented, and it's been downhill ever since. New-fangled contraptions ... :-)

Before 1850 music just has no sax appeal.

To get really specific. my favorite genre of music is industrial metal. Stuff like later Ministry, Nine Inch Nails circa Broken, Strapping Young Lad, and Fear Factory circa Demanufacture.

That aside, I tend to stick to metal, punk and anything that could be labeled industrial. Really though, I'll listen to almost anything catchy that's not whiny Country or bland radio pop.

I'd have to say "ecclectic"...my playlist on shuffle can go from Weird Al to Chopin to Rage Against the Machine to an original Broadway cast recording to Run DMC to Bloodhound Gang to Bob Dylan to Bif Naked to the Snorks theme.

The only stuff I really can't tolerate is certain pitches women sing in: gospel, r&b and opera I just can't listen to.

Outside of that, I listen to all kinds of music, but classic rock, extreme metal, instrumental jazz & film scores and early 80s British hardcore punk still really flip my switch.

Absolutely, I still recall those Mid-Summer nights when the good people of the village came together to have some fun. It all started with the Black Hoody yelling at the crowd; "Are you ready to Stone?" after which he would flick a torch, ignite the twigs around the stake, and we all became enchanted by the wood crackling, and the high pitch from the Witch. It was Music to my Ears.
Since everything must come to an end, so did this form of entertainment ceased to exist with the Witchcraft Act of 1735.

Nowadays, I'm only listening to Metal Guitar Instrumentals waiting for the revival of the good old days.

I'll give just about any music genre a chance so I have a pretty eclectic selection of music that I listen to. Most falls into rock and pop though. I do listen to quite a bit of rock and pop music from Japan.

Sounds more like you just don't like diva type vocals more than "pitches".

I listen to music from all genres. I'm constantly looking for new band, singers and composers to listen to. Any suggestions?
