Well, let's just say I'm glade I decided (last minute) to jump onto the DCnU. I do not regret it. Before my pull list consisted of 14 Marvel titles (and has always been Marvel titles).

Now it consists of 13 Marvel titles and 16 DC titles. I tried out 18 DC books and stuck with 16 of them for the time being. Will probably reduce this down a few more as I am picking up 4 Batman books and that is way too much. Hardly ever read more than a single issue of a DC comic before. Really liked the Justice League issue as it seemed to introduce the character very simply for my first proper DC comic. Sure, I'm familiar with Batman, Superman, etc. but it's nice to see them join up in a way where I feel like I am seeing the start of the story completely (if that makes sense).

I normally read Marvel, but have read less than a dozen DC comics before. With this reboot, I felt like this was the perfect time to jump on. And they've won me over.

I've read Marvel for a while now and have mostly followed my fave character (Gambit) and a few others. I've always been interested in DC but had never seen a good jump on point, but now i have, and i'm reading quite a lot of DC now, whilst cutting back a little on my Mavel books which wern't as good or didn't have my fave character in.

Under the Red Hood is an epic movie. You should also try the first Batman and Robin trade, Batman and Robin: Batman Reborn, if you like Jason Todd - the second arc in the collection, "Revenge of the Red Hood," is one of his best stories, though the art isn't the best. Basically, Jason gets a psycho teen girl sidekick named Scarlet and tries to replace Batman as Gotham's #1 hero. It's awesome. And the first arc in the trade is even better, the beginning of the Dick Grayson/Damian Wayne Batman and Robin team, with awesome art by Frank Quitely, who you will learn to love.
Will do, thanks for the reply.

I have always loosely followed comicbooks and have always enjoyed superheroes. As a kid, I would pick up special issues or story arches but, wasn't a true collector. I also followed Marvel more then DC. When I heard DC was planning a reboot/relaunch of some of their books, I thought it would be a good jumping on point so, here I am.

    Default Comic Shops!

I think a key thing to have more readers is nice Comic shops. In our last episode of A Comic Book Look we talk about what makes a good comic shop, Take a look:

Well my first proper venture into DC is complete.

    I read the following:
    Action Comics
    Aquaman
    Batman
    Batman & Robin
    Batman: The Dark Knight
    Birds of Prey
    Detective Comics
    Green Arrow
    Green Lantern
    Justice League
    Justice League International
    Nightwing
    Stormwatch
    Superboy
    Supergirl
    Superman
    Teen Titans

Loved (and in the long haul for):
    Action Comics
    Aquaman
    Batman
    Justice League
    Nightwing
    Superboy
    Teen Titans

    Giving a few more issues:
    Batman & Robin
    Birds of Prey
    Detective Comics
Green Arrow (until new creative team)
    Green Lantern
    Justice League International
    Stormwatch
    Supergirl
    Superman

    Dropped:
Batman: The Dark Knight (I love Finch, but one too many bat books I was getting)

I'm sure there are some great DC books I'm missing out on though (any suggestions based on what I liked?)

    So my list consists of:
    Marvel: 13 (9 of which are X-Men)
    DC: 16

    Not bad considering it was
    Marvel: 14
    DC: 0

I've been a Marvel reader for about five years, since right after M day. I have to say though, DC has pulled me in (at the cost of some of my X titles)

I have been a long time Marvel reader, but about 6 or 7 years ago stopped reading all-together. I have always liked aquaman, flash and green lantern, but they never got good writers or stories. When i heard that they were turned around and had good concepts in them again, I wanted to get back involved. The new 52 has been great for the characters I really like, and i have a pull list again for the first time in 10 years.

I have avoided DC like the plague. I HATE space lore and it seemed to me that every DC title was an issue of Green Lantern with a different Character in GL's place.

Final Crisis was terrible and Bruce Wayne's magical Mighty Boosch journey through space and time was the straw that broke the camel's back.

    I read ALL Marvel.

Then DC rebooted and the ONLY reason I started to entertain the idea of getting a DC title (new or otherwise) was that my lcs is having a contest. For every DC issue #1 you purchase from the new 52...You get a ticket. This Saturday they will hold a drawing. The winning ticket gets every DC issue from every title you purchased free for a year.

AND they will refund any issue you hate for a store credit.

It's win win win in my book so I got

    Justice League
    Action
    Batman
    Detective
    Batman and Robin
    Aquaman
    Wonder Woman
    Flash
    Nightwing
    Superman
    Red Hood and the Outlaws
    Teen Titans
    Suicide Squad
    Frankenstein
    All Star Western

Wow DC really brought their A game. Amazing Spider-man is still my favorite comic and hero...But I will be dropping almost all other Marvel titles.

    So far my favorites are

Aquaman (who knew this would be the title I would love the most?)
Action (again...A complete shock that I would enjoy this one)
    All Star Western
    Batman
    Frankenstein
    Justice League
    Suicide Squad

Biggest disappointments are Wonder Woman and shockingly...Flash (had such high hopes for that one)

Batman and Robin also was a let down (I just HATE Damian)

Have been out of comics for a while (and even when I was into comics, I wasn't that much of a fan)...but now am back with the reboot and am going crazy. All ready have a pull list of 25 DC comics, 3 Marvel comics and a couple others from Image and Dark Horse.

+1 to that though am not generalising and saying that the character is bad or whatever. I just personally hate that little bugger.

I've never read DC comics before, I am massively into Spider-Man and Avengers and stuff like that. I love Batman in all other formats though, but it just didn't make sense to start picking up the comics knowing nothing of the stories, so the DCnU gave me that opportunity, and I took advantage of it by picking up Action Comics, Detective Comics, Green Lantern, Superman and Justice League too, as well as Batman of course, and I am very glad I did.

I hope it doesn't bomb so I can remain part of it for years to come.

When I was like 10 I picked up a buch of comics at a bookstore that was closing like 10 for a buck or something. Mostly unknowns. A few familiar titles. When I was doing a purge of a bunch of stuff those comics went as i had lost interest. During freshmen year of high school I discovered showcase presents and picked up a few volumes of that (and in around 8th grade I picked up a trade paperback of spidergirl. Anyway during sophomore year i picked up essential marvel spiderman vol 1 and a few graphic novels. Lapsed again after that, although i did keep what I had accumulated around to glance at on occasion. With the new 52 I decided to jump on board, em following a few of them. Gonna start getting trades and graphic novels again. Guess I have some catching up to do.

Also on occasion now I'll pick up grab bags at the local buyout store. 10 comics for 4.99.

    That's my story.
