Default What can be expected of the new ninja turtles series?

I'm really curious about this b/c it'll be the 1st time I start following a TMNT comic without them present in another form of media like a cartoon (nicktoon's CGI series not expected to come out until like next year).I was kind of suprised by the preview I read that CBR has. From what I saw in the preview the colour palette looks somber and art (which involved Dan Duncan and like co-creator Kevin Eastman) is kind of rough/sketchy .The turtles dont look as bitterly grouchy like in the original 80's mirage series or as slick as they did in the 2000's cartoon (which IMO was prob.one of the best action cartoons of that decade although the last two seasons 6 "Fast forward" & 7 "Back to the sewers" kind of cheaped out on the animation quality). It was'nt done by John Cassaday,Leinill Yu or Adam Kubert although it is possible that in the future they'll do art for TMNT.Also will this pick after Volume 2 or 4?.

I think it'll depend on how much freedom Viacom gives IDW. If Viacom is liberal with how much freedom they give IDW, I think we can expect a pretty solid title. I'd like to see a return of the "real" Shredder and by that I mean the really evil and tough as nails one from the early series, not the flamboyant one from the 90's cartoon, or the incompetent one from the movies. And I'd like to see him stick around and not get killed off.

You mean the one that killed off in the first issue?

And I'd like to see him stick around and not get killed off.
    Oh, you know that already.

I'm not entirely sure. Shredder is so NOT really a part of comics Turtle mythology. The Foot is, and a lot of interesting things have been done with the Foot without Shredder. More Shredder just feels like more of the lame cartoon turtles getting into the comic turtles.

But we've already got some Krang action in the IDW Turtles, so who knows.

The Shredder that was in the first cartoon series, he seemed like a parody of the one that was in the Mirage series. Heh, but even the cartoon version of Skeletor was a balless wonder compared to the one in the mini comics that the first wave of figures came with. Does anyone remember those? Skeletor was always after the blonde Teela, I even remember one where he and Beastman were spying on her from the bushes. I was only like 9 or 10 but even at that age I knew the dude was a perv.

But sticking to the topic. The Shredder I'd like to see is the one from the original Mirage series. The Shredder from back then was a stone cold bad ass, even the worm/clone version of that Shredder had balls of steel. I'd like to see him make a return and to be used sparingly. And I'd also like to see him win from time to time because well, he should.
