I wanted to get this, but the artist isn't my favorite.
New Avengers, Morbius The Living Vampire, Scarlet Spider, Iron Man, Fearless Defenders, Fantastic Four, Deadpool Killogy, Savage Wolverine, Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men & X-Force, Cable & X-Force, Gambit
Huat's art has improved over the years (maybe it's the coloring - his GHOST RIDER and PUNISHER runs recently looked quite good - because the more I look at it, it looks the same as his rather dreadful DOOM PATROL series several years back), so I don't really mind it.
It's the writing that seemed to really take a tumble with the last mini, so I'm hoping DnA bounce back with this one. If not........I'm almost gonna hope Loeb takes over the cosmic books (which was rumored a while back)...
Was not impressed with the first mini, expecially due to the characterization of Quasar, but this looks to be a lot better. We have the new Universal Church of Truth along with the rebirth of Magus, a throwdown with the avengers and no Silver Surfer jobbing. He will be busy in Thor and then Defenders, so this could be good...
Gladiator and Bill wrecking gigantic space ships? That got my attention.
Bring the fall, DnA. Bring the fall and the Annihilators will rise!

I am just so disappointed Nova isn't in this. He makes the Cosmic line. He is the Cosmic line. To leave him out is like leaving Batman out of the Batman book. Where is he?!
Visited NY and DC and saw Spider-Man Turn off the Dark.
Eh... that's giving him a bit TOO much credit.
There was a Marvel cosmic line prior to Nova being a part of it. And even in the current cosmic I think Nova only played a big role in the first Annihilation and in Thanos Imperative.
Still, it is a shame that Nova isn't around. He's missing a lot of fun stuff both in the cosmic books and in Secret Avengers. But ya never know... this might be the perfect book to return Nova.
He's both a cosmic buy and an Avenger (sort of), so it's as good a time as any to bring him back.

After the Annihilators mini-series, I can't say I'm looking forward to any of this. It was like a couple of Vs. forum posters started professional writing, only it was anything but.
I'm a bit wary as well. I thought Quasar got a bit better in the end of the last mini, but they've been underselling his powers for ages.
Now we're at a very important crux. Avengers vs Annihilators... and Quasar is an Avenger. This story should revolve around his characterization, his relationships, and his struggle to reconcile the needs of both teams with 'doing the right thing'.
I'm not trying to say Quasar is one of the big time Avengers, but in the vol #3 relaunch it was clearly established that he has a place at the very heart of the team. His relationships with Ben or Steve should really put a halt to *any* fighting on his part. He should be able to talk the teams through this.
I don't expect that to happen (until the climax). I'm coming into this expecting to be disappointed, I guess. We'll see?
Wendell Vaughn is Quasar.
I liked the GotG better than the Annihilators. The Annihilators have less personality in aggreggate than Groot.
DING DING DING!
Quasar is and has been an Avenger for quite some time and there really shouldn't need to be an Avengers vs Annihilators fight if not for the presence of Ronan, as the earth-based characters probably are unaware of his turn. And honestly, they really don't have the man-power to go against this team anyway you look at it. Cosmo should be able to take all of them out of the game before it even kicks off.
And a separate matter, but what is up with that art. That doesn't look like Huat or Green. It could just be the inking but something definitely not right there.
Huat's work was much better on Ghost Rider and his Silver Surfer mini. Green's was the best of the Annihilation Conquest lead ins, in my opinion.

I'll admit I have trouble imagining any sort of scenario that the Avengers would oppose that Wendel wouldn't.
I can understand guys like Ronan or Gladiator having a different sort of perspective, but I would presume Wendel would be on the same page as the Avengers.
But we'll see. It's probably a bit too early to judge the characters motivations at this point.
I have hopes this will at least turn out better then the first mini as the Rocket Raccoon & Groot back up became the better story
Really think GOTG vs. Avengers would have been better, thinking of Drax going toe to toe with Rogers makes me giddy
