Same old, same old.
Hobos frighten me. It's time my enemies shared my dread.
Go OMAC Go !
Actually Keith Giffen is on wheels and it's good to see, and the other months sollicits tend to prove the title will be crazy a little. I'd have expected something maybe more awol onto cyber-techno-punk , but if it fails, it can at last be replaced by a CHECKMATE ongoing (can't help thinking Morrison + Quitely onto this one), and still featuring OMAC.

I hope OMAC is as funs as it sounds and that it finds an audience. It has got to be difficult for niche genres and titles to be overlooked for whatever reason despite the amount of passion that goes into it. The good news is that if they can't grab sales in the direct market, the digital outlet gives it at least a chance to find the audience it needs.

...and I was going to order Kirby' original limited serie just to discover it isn't available anymore on DC site..

Nice..so we'll be seeing probably around half of the books scrapped within the first 6-8 months. Really gets me primed to start reading these books now. It was hard enough being a Secret Six fan and wondering if they were going to cancel it every month.
What about those who can't afford to buy all 52? A little advertising outside the well known couldn't have hurt
I think with the variety of what they've put out there, we'll be surprised at how well some of these will perform.
It's actually the smaller niche titles I'm looking forward to the most, like Demon Knights, OMAC, All Star Western, Men of War, Blackhawks, Swamp Thing, Stormwatch, Grifter, etc
6 months isn't very long to be invested in a book. Maybe in this marketplace but that seems hardly enough time to find legs. I am really looking forward to the OMAC book but DC hasn't really done anything new to increase my interest past the initial announcement. The art look great but I would think Didio and Giffen would have all kind of ideas about making this title work based on their collective experience in the industry, they should be setting the high bar.
In some cases, 6 months is only the first story-arc. I'd have though editors would let a title running for at last 3 or 4 story-arcs. I'm sure some unexpected titles like Blackhawks, Men at War, All-Star Western or Demon Knights will go trough it, I'm most frightened about Mr Terrific, Captain Atom, BatWing or Hawk and Dove..

Secret Six would have been safe if it wasn't for the relaunch. It had a steady 20k following. However, due to it's low placement in the DCU hierarchy sales-wise it was a casualty. I wonder if 20k will be cancellation point this time around. Digital sales (I'm hearing people overseas are buying) and TPB (1st trades come out in March I believe) may still save some books.
As for buying all 52 books. That was never their expectation. They like when people do that but they understand people's budgets. Nobody is forcing you to buy the mainstream books. Your top books could be OMAC, I, Vampire and Batwing for all they care.
Six months is a long time for me. One arc is about as long as I can follow an ongoing. These first arcs better rock.
That said, I can't wait for OMAC next week. Outsiders was action packed and I'm hoping OMAC is the same.
