Perfect timing for me i have been reading fewer comics, i have been losing interest in uneven creators who write my fav superhero series, big two comics. I had to dump a few of those to afford Mignola comics, DHP, new Image etc

Many series like Lobster mini, several image,DHP starting in my pull list in January. Good time to be reading american comics.
    Pull List:
    The Walking Dead,Fatale,Near Death,Storm Dogs,Happy,BPRD,XO-Manowar
    American Vampire,Animal Man,Swamp Thing
    Daredevil, Winter Soldier,Indestructible Hulk

Yeah, the coming year has a lot of great stories in store. I thought the previews we got this time last year were stunning but the comics being teased now are even better, especially the ones DH presents.

Did DHP #7 release this week? DHC website says "yes", a few posts on Twitter/FB from the usual suspects say "yes" but I didn't see anything locally - Liverpool or Southport. Guessing for a post-Christmas release next week?

Thanks! I think UK may be next week (or at least my LCS), the FP site doesn't seem to have it in stock either.

That was awesome! I loved the talking heads bit at the end, especially the explanation by Professor O'Donnell. The part about him being a ward of the BPRD since 1995 has me interested though, I wonder if that will be explained in his forthcoming story?

is this a stand alone one shot or part of an ongoing over future issues of DHP?

It's pretty much a stand alone story. I mean, it helps to have read the previous Hellboy in Mexico stories but the opening pretty much gives you all you need to know about them if you haven't read them yet.

You should get on that, it was a blast, though like I said not really needed to get into the story.

All in all though the issue was pretty good, though there were a few stories I kind of just thumbed through as they were pieces from the middle of on goin stories.

finally read this. it was alright. probably should read that latest Hellboy GN.

I thought the rest of the issue was pretty lousy, to be honest.
Chaykin and Adams look horrible with the modern coloring.

some of it just felt like amateur hour. awful coloring. boring line art. coloring that didn't fit the line art at all. terribly underwhelming overall.

    unfortunately.

    So what you're saying is,
that within the DHP book - which is an anthology, consisting of a likely diverse set of material to feature - you couldn't quite bring yourself to be liking just everything perfectly?

    And this worries you?

Don't feel bad, Damny-Bats. It won't be an automatic given or rule that anything printed - even to a professional or commercial capacity, should get liked by you instantaneously? As that would be lunacy.

Having your own opinion will happen sooner or later and frankly any such might even be resulting in something fruitful. Which needn't be anything "unfortunate" in the slightest?

But in order for you to be enjoying your reading as how you like, for your reading experiences to be seeming fruitful even remotely, I'd say it would require for you to be focusing on stuff you'd like for your reading. Which would mean not reading or buying stuff you wouldn't like.

Which in case of the DHP, being an anthology book, would mean to just not excessively be to mind any of it not seeming for you very much.
Or either you shouldn't have bought it, as there wouldn't have to be anything wrong with it, not with its material nor with the quality or professionality of any of its makers.
I would think any such to being rather obvious to tell you the truth.

Been called a 'good egg'. Been told to rock, been told to steady myself. Been told to (please) be goin' places.
Chillingly good stuff besides Mignola, Slint, M, Knut and really big chunks of tinfoil?
Half sunk in the mud, with one eye showing / a cracked smile and hair still growing /
your hands miles apart, as if they'd never met / you were the happiest I'd seen you yet

no, unfortunately I thought some of it was below professional grade material. I simply expected better. I was let down.

it's not that I didn't like everything. it's that I thought some of it didn't deserve to be published. but really, that's neither here nor there for this board.
