I didn't mind Ultimate X, as I've said. Delays aside, the story was pretty interesting. As I've also said though, the narration boxes were so distracting, and most of them were from the perspectives of extemperaneous characters, and could have been better served to give us the thoughts of one of our mutant main characters.
The Amazing Spider-Man, Avenging Spider-Man, Venom, Scarlet Spider, Daredevil, Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers, Avengers Academy, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, FF, All Ultimate
Plawsky - where is says Ultimate Mod! under your name I just read that as Ultimate Modi and thought for a moment that you were claiming to be the son of Thor
Uh oh... I've been found out!
I've got more hearsay and rumors to contribute. This one is from 4chan's /co/ board, and is in response to a thread asking about the Asian Spider-Man from Avengers:
Honestly, this is what I've always suspected. That Millar killed off all of his creations so nobody else could ruin them.I asked Mark Millar on Saturday [at Kapow] and he told me there was a tonne of stories planned to explain him but the threat of Jeff Loeb being allowed to take over his characters forced him to kill them all off unceremoniously.
So basically, he was not supposed to be an asian super soldier but he needed a reason to kill him in the final arc and this was it.
The point of The Ultimates 3, at least how I read it, was a deconstruction of Millar's deconstruction of modern comics. Millar attempted to deconstruct modern comics and did a very poor job of it and created a modern comic. Loeb highlights all of the first two books problems masterfully. It honestly made me realize WHY everyone hated it because it showed why the first two were flawed.
