recently he's been having a good feud with blue panther, those matches have been good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dq-hd2RzF4 and i think they're having a hair match soon. off the top of my head i'd say check out his match from the J-crown against otani
and other matches from him around this time(late 90's) with benoit, jericho, liger etc. for him in his physical prime.
also i remember really enjoying Minoru/Hirooki Goto vs. Negro Casas/Felino from NJPW in 2005. don't remember the date but i'm pretty sure it was the night brock won the IWGP title. really i almost always enjoy negros matches, even at his age he still knows how to entertain.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

It just happened, last week I think. I won't ruin it! Hope it makes TV too, though the Averno/Mascara mask vs. mask match never seems to have been aired.

REVIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW TIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!!!!!!
NJPW 08/12/2010
1. G1 Climax - Block A: Strong Man vs. Karl Anderson good. machine gun is awesome and knows how to get the best out of strong man
2. G1 Climax - Block A: Toru Yano vs. Tetsuya Naito better than i xpected. good heel work by yano and naito carried the workload.
3. G1 Climax - Block B: Hirooki Goto vs. Yujiro Takahashi good. i was always a bigger fan of yujiro than naito when they were NO LIMIT, but because of his size yujiro struggles some as a HW and i'm starting to notice a gap between the twos ability. still a good match. i'm a big fan of goto.
4. Special Tag Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi & TAJIRI vs. Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma this was OK, tajiri's antics are always fun and everyone in the match is good. honmas role in the company makes me sad though.
5. G1 Climax - Block B: Go Shiozaki vs. Giant Bernard good. THIS is how you book a big man and keep him over WWE, also see what they're were doing with strong man.
6. G1 Climax - Block B: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Wataru Inoue good. i don't like inoue but shinsuke is great and there was good drama in the match.
7. G1 Climax - Block A: Manabu Nakanishi vs. Prince Devitt good, i really loved the finish in this one.
8. G1 Climax - Block B: Yuji Nagata vs. Satoshi Kojima very damn good, wasn't sure which way they were going to go. big fan of both guys(more kojima though)
overall a decent buy at $6 nothing must see but everything was good. solid night in the G1 of that year and has me looking forward to the next DVD.

So far, I'm loving these Negro Casas matches.
The thing that surprises the hell out of me is that this guy hasn't a single major injury in his over 30 year career. That's luck and skill on a major scale (and maybe wrestling opponents you know you can trust in the ring).
I wish a bunch of other wrestlers had his fortune.
So I guess Prince Devitt isn't wrestling for CMLL after all. He's in Mexico, but cubsfan says he's got a calf injury that he can't wrestle through. Or that CMLL won't let him wrestle through. Either way, no Prince Devitt for the time being.

REVIEEEEEEEEEEEW TIIME!!!!!!!!!
BJPW 05/02/2011 from IVP videos. this is the matchlist from the website but the 1st 2 matches are not on the disc hence no review details.
1. Yuichi Taniguchi vs Takumi Tsukamoto
2. Daikokubo Benkei, Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei vs Onryo, Amigo Suzuki & Masato Inaba
3. Yoshihito Sasaki & Shinya Ishikawa vs Shinobu & Kazuki Hashimoto very good. sasaki is the only guy i was familiar with in the match and he seemed to really want a piece of shinobu, who did a really good job of making me want to see sasaki destroy his ass. both hashimoto & ishikawa were impressive as well. ishikawa is very athletic and hashimoto was just a good workhorse allowing shinobu to his antics.
4. Barbed Wire Board Deathmatch: Jun Kasai, Jaki Numazawa & Masashi Takeda vs Yuko Miyamoto, Isami Kodaka & Kankuro Hoshino cool if you like this sort of thing and i do. 1st time seeing hoshino & takeda, i liked hoshino. takeda maybe didn't stand out so much because he's along side kasi & numazawa. all these guys can go w/o the barbwire & shit bt they work a good hardcore/ultrviolent match.
5. Big Van Walter vs Ryuichi Kawakamikind of flat i thought. walter is a WxW guy i've seen before, 1st time seeing kawakami. this match didn't make me think too much of either of them.
6. Fluorescent Deathmatch: Ryuji Ito & Abdullah Kobayashi vs Takashi Sasaki & Shadow WX fun & brutal spots a plenty. i'm pretty keen on lighttubes for some reason and they know how to use them, the cinder block spots though, damn that looks painful. takashi sasaki is pretty damn awesome.
7. All Asia Tag Title: © Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi vs Ryota Hama & Manabu Soya HOLY SHIT!! i think they should've took it home a little sooner but this was damn good. everybody was good in this, not just including but especially hama. this is a powerhouse tag match and they throw their weight around. i would like to see more double team moves from sekimoto & okabayashi in the future.
overall great buy at $3 and a good balanced intro for people new to BJPW
a video highlighting the show

4sho!!
terrible vs roosh was cool but quien es mas rudo?? i mean 1 guy cheats to win but then gets a 3 on 1 beatdown. IDK i think i might like roosh better as a face though. i didn't get to see the 2nd match.
oh yeah i meant to ask KK, why the sudden interest in negro??

I liked Terrible vs. Rush - and I don't mind Rush wrestling Terrible like a rudo. It could be one of those things that only pops up between the two of them. Like, Terrible just makes him so mad that he can't help himself. I've always been a little baffled as to why Rush wasn't a rudo in the first place. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but the hair and the pretty boy thing just screams bad guy to me. But he's not a bad technico...
If you do get the chance to track down the 2nd match, it's completely worth your time. Marcela and Ayumi probably (easily) put on the best TV match this week. Those chicks are crazy. Great 3rd fall...
