never thought too much of jimmy jacobs personally. good tag wrestler and talker.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order
PWG Threemendous 3 results from PWponderings
looks like an awesome show. funny about joey using the kata ha jime, looks like either a mack vs cage contenders match or 3-way title match on the way, glad to hear drake's debut went so well, and sami needs a win soon.Joey Ryan def Famous B via tazmission & uses the famous, “survive if I let you line”
Roderick Strong def TJP with vertical suplex into back breaker. Apparently a great match.
RockNES Monsters def Chuck Taylor & Ryan Taylor via cheating. Crowd turned on them. Yuma then got on the mic & asked if the crowd thought they were ready for a title shot.
Brian Cage def Eddie Edwards via the gory facebuster (weapon x). Great hard hitting match. Cage would get on the mic and challenged Steen if he retains and calls him a sucka. If Willie wins he said he was coming after him (called him nigga) Yes chant broke out.
PWG Title match: Kevin Steen def Willie Mack via psycho driver
Steen attacked Mack during his entrance. Brian Cage would come out during the match and destroy both Willie Mack & Kevin Steen when Knox got knocked out. Mack kicked out of the package piledriver but not the psycho driver. Looks like some fun booking for the PWG Title scene.
B Boy def Drake Younger w/ Beach Break. Stiff & Crazy. Said to be match of the night so far.
B Boy kicked out of the Drakes Landing and then did it to Drake who kicked out of it as well. Drake bled.

Main Event PWG Tag Title Triple Threat Ladder Match: SSB defeated Young Bucks and Future Shock
Matt Jackson & Kyle O’Reilly went through tables. Rick Knox apparently did a Tope Con Hilo also during the match onto the Bucks

PWG BOLA 2012 info
niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. they actually have promos for the tourney this year on PWG's youtube channel.Originally, the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles was envisioned as a two-day tournament, like the majority of previous Battle of Los Angeles events. However, there were some very practical obstacles standing in the way of a two-day event taking place. First, American Legion Hall #308 in Reseda, CA, was available on September 1, but had another event scheduled for September 2. Second, 2006 Battle of Los Angeles winner Davey Richards had a scheduling conflict that prevented him from competing in this year's tournament. Third, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen was scheduled to face see Comedy World Champion Louis C.K. in Atlantic City, NJ on September 1.
Fortunately, due to a cancellation at the Legion Hall, September 2 opened up, and a two-day tournament was now possible. On top of that, Davey Richards was able to resolve his scheduling conflict earlier today, and asked to be added to the tournament, even if it had to be as an alternate. Finally, Kevin Steen's loss to El Generico in the 2011 Battle of Los Angeles finals was so galling to Steen that the World Champion canceled his vacation in order to, in his words, "win the whole thing."
With those factors in mind (and a couple extra Louis C.K. tickets on StubHub), we are pleased to announce that the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles will now take place on September 1 and 2, 2012, with 16 competitors fighting to call themselves a Battle of Los Angeles winner!
The 2012 Battle of Los Angeles - Stage 1 takes place on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 8:00PM at American Legion Post #308. The 2012 Battle of Los Angeles - Stage 2 takes place on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at 6:00PM at American Legion Post #308. American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Front Row tickets are $35 per night, or $60 for both. General Admission tickets are $30 per night, or $50 for both. Tickets for the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles will go on sale Wednesday, July 25 at 8:00PM PDT.
First round matches in the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles are scheduled to include:
- Ricochet (2nd Battle of Los Angeles) vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen (6th Battle of Los Angeles)
Participants in the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles are scheduled to include:
- Sami Callihan (1st Battle of Los Angeles)

I think if people looked into it (Meltzer included) they would discover that TNA has did the per appearance contracts for a long while. Nash was on a per appearance contract of $5,000 a show. Flair was on a per appearance deal (he signed for like 60+ dates back in 2010) . Morgan himself was on one and TNA did pay him for some extra house shows . RVD it was said was signed to a per appearance deal back in 2010. He signed for more dates in late 2011 from what I read a long while back.
The report doesn't seem to jive with keeping TNA's long term guys they sign. For instance... Carter annouced they signed Austin Aires to a new 3 year deal. Kurt Angle signed a 3+ year deal months ago.
I think if we looked at it... TNA wants to keep a core group around on guaranteed deals and keep guys like Flair , Nash , RVD on per appearance contracts. Maybe they are moving to move more of the roster to per appearance deals. But it weirdly doesn't make sense after signing Aires recently to a 3 year deal.

Sucks 200 character limit.
Aires deal just came up and he resigned for 3 years reportedly. I mean it was 2-3 weeks ago that Dixie annouced she signed him to a contract extension.
I can sense Pritchard could be doing the "per appearance" contracts to get rid of some stars . But guys like AJ , Aires , Roode and more could get guaranteed contracts. Like they are locking down the "base core" guys for the company and using this on the older guys perhaps.

Nash at $5000 per? Anytime recently? *shakes my head*
Offhand it sounds like they are trying to nickel and dime the masses to make up for wasting millions on the overpayed "elite" and other useless gimmick acts.
