I remember when a limited Hogan worked against the Rock 8-9 years ago at Wrestlemania. Its true Hogan could do more then and Rocky was young. But the fans were like... no way will Hogan get any cheers. He's an old man past his prime.

But the Toronto fans ate the nostalgia with a spoon and within moments were bowing down to Hogan. Because for them , they had grew up on the Hulkster.

I'm not saying it will work here as much. But 2 older generation guys , going at it in a special attraction match may lure a few older buys to BFG.

Nearly 10 years ago, and the Rock worked his ass off. Also, they never fought before.

I had read that Lance Storm and Jerry Lynn had a no-bumps match back in ECW. And that one of Daniel Bryan's matches with EVOLVE (that or DGUSA) had only one bump apiece for the whole match. I'd love to see either - but going the super-technical route is probably not how the Hulkster would accomplish the same goal.

they'll probably have some interference by Immortal somehow. the match will be no-bumps for a good 5-10 minutes and then Immortal will sweep in to get Sting. at least, that's what i think.

as far as booking, i wouldn't be surprised if they somehow made the entire EY fiasco a selling point and suddenly had him "accidentally" win the belt.

    dumber things have happened.

That's correct. Which sucks for him. But smart booking would have Roode getting the God push now. With Storm's crack at that still being in the offing once he gets back to full speed.

I think both have significant potential as solo acts. As does Pope.

Also Hogan hadnt been in the WWE for almost a decade at that point and was cheered by fans eager to see him again.

Is Toronto one of the smark cities?
I seem to remember that it's one of the cities where midcard guys get huge pops, which says yes, but they cheered Hogan over rock which...hmm, i guess it makes sense in that Rock was getting kinda disliked at that point wasn't he?

I think that was the time when The Rock was getting the same kind of reaction Cena is currently getting. I think that was the same year that they cheered Brock Lesnar over him when he wrestled The Rock over the WWE Title.

Its gonna be a hardcore brawl more or less with limited bumps. Sting will do most of the bumping for Hogan and all. But I predict he takes the Stinger splash and deathlock to lose.

    Which is true.

Toronto is a traditional old WWF city and had basically grew up on Hogan in the 1980's. In fact Hogan had worked Wrestlemania 6 there and lost in heroic fashion. Those fans remembered Hulk Hogan. They remembered a man who made them watch as kids .

I don't think the fans were hating the Rock for his going Hollywood as much then. Its just , they saw Hogan (a really beloved hero then) and cheered him on more.

Not quite Cena level, but their was a vocal minority, who was just getting tired of him.

Following World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle's Sunday arrest in Virginia for driving under the influence, TNA Wrestling removed promotional advertisements for the mixed martial arts film Warrior from their official website and Facebook page.

Angle is featured in the movie, which comes out this Friday, as a Russian mixed martial art champion named "Koba".

In celebration of Jeff Hardy's much anticipated return to Impact Wrestling this Thursday on Spike TV, TNA has released a "He's Back" Jeff Hardy Special via ShopTNA.com. For $59.99, the package includes two different random Jeff Hardy T-shirts, the new Jeff Hardy action figure, a Jeff Hardy pendant, an autographed eight by ten photo, and "the very cool Jeff Hardy mask that is an awesome piece of wall art."

    They are really milking this.

Expect him getting a TNA Title shot in about a couple of months or so.

You know, TNA had, and still largely has most of the basics to have a great product. But instead they continue to hang their future on made elsewhere, frequently troubled, and often past it retreads.

While similarly reportedly skimping on native talent and too often shunning longterm identity creation.

I'm starting to seriously wonder whether some people behind the scenes in the firm are mentally competant. Or maybe they just want to see how much they can drag a product through the mud and still get a substantial (if somewhat declined) audience to tune in.

Like truth or dare or something.

It's like TNA just doesn't care and is just going through the motions right now.
