Taker is old, Jericho is getting old, HHH is old, none of them are the future of the promotion. The match should be used to put a guy over, even if he loses, not to bring some other guy back.
Shit, you're already bringing Undertaker, who hasn't been on tv for a year back, why bring someone else back?

After the 2011 Royal Rumble was dubbed the "biggest Royal Rumble in history" with a record-breaking 40 participants, it appears WWE is reverting back to the traditional 30-man format for the Rumble's 25th anniversary in January.

St. Louis' Scottrade Center, which hosts the Rumble, is advertising a "30-man Royal Rumble match" as well as WWE Championship & World Heavyweight title matches for the event.

As reported earlier, tickets for the January 29th pay-per-view go on sale December 10, with prices ranging from $20-300.

Well, when you fire your undercard it's kinda tough to fit 40 people in.

TLC is this weekend. And here is the card so far:

WWE Championship: Triple Threat TLC Match: CM Punk (c) vs. The Miz vs. Alberto Del Rio
Sledgehammer Ladder Match: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash
World Heavyweight Championship: Chairs Match: Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show
Tables Match: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett
Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Booker T
United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) (with Vickie Guerrero) vs. Zack Ryder

    I'll go with:
    Punk
    Triple H
    Henry
    Orton
    Rhodes
    Ryder

I think they may add one more match either a tag match or a divas match.

I agree with you, only I'd say Ziggler over Ryder and Barret over Orton.

Having a tables match means it's a lot easier for Orton to take the loss than if it were a straight-up pinfall, as you can add some fluke-like symptoms to it.

No reason for Ziggler to retain, given that it seems like he's gearing up for a ME push, but I'm trying to predict the 'E so...

WWE Championship: Triple Threat TLC Match: CM Punk (c) vs. The Miz vs. Alberto Del Rio

Going to go with Del Rio, with Johnny Ace screwing Punk over

Sledgehammer Ladder Match: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash

This has Russo written all over it eventhough he has nothing to do with the match. This is going to be comedy gold just to see Nash trying to climb a ladder.

World Heavyweight Championship: Chairs Match: Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show

Mark Henry. Hopefully his reign last all the way to Wrestlemania. I dare say he's the only recent heel champion in the WWE thats booked strongly.

Tables Match: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett

I'm going to have to go with Orton. So far Barrett's been besting him in the feud leading up to this match so I see Orton getting his win back. Besides the guy's been losing his share of Wrestling PPV's as of late

Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Booker T

I go with Booker putting Cody over and this could build to a future match with Danielson down the road or Goldust.

United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) (with Vickie Guerrero) vs. Zack Ryder

Not sure with this one. Personally I want to give Ryder the win so that WWE could put Ziggles in the main event but I see Ryder being screwed out of it in some fashion. Like say Ziggler get himself intentionally DQ'ed just so the feud can drag a little more

WWE Championship: Triple Threat TLC Match: CM Punk (c) vs. The Miz vs. Alberto Del Rio

    Punk i think.

Sledgehammer Ladder Match: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
No one gives a shit about this stupid match outside of seeing Kevin Nash in a ladder match. HHH wins, and i'm going to call worst match of the show.

World Heavyweight Championship: Chairs Match: Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show
Henry because this feud needs to end, i don't expect anything special out of this, they will do some big spot to distract from the fact that the match sucks, again. Maybe Kane runs in and attacks them both.

Tables Match: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett

This is the biggest wildcard on the show, because Orton keeps losing, and he's probably going to win the rumble so that's probably why he agrees to keep losing. I'll go with Orton just because Wade has been messing with him for so long that Orton kinda needs to win.

Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Booker T

I can't see Booker T winning the belt, just because of that i'm going with Cody.

United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) (with Vickie Guerrero) vs. Zack Ryder

This is another weird one. Traditional logic says Ryder wins, they are doing everything to make us think Ryder is going to win. It will give him a win that they think he's earned, and it frees Ziggler up to feud higher up on the card.

I will assume they aren't swerving us and Ryder will actually win.

Some people within WWE are predicting the lowest buyrate of the year for Sunday's WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.

    Because it's Wrestlemania.

I'm all for pushing new guys, but Wrestlemania is different, IMO. It's a showcase where you get the best and biggest talent available and put on the best card you possibly can.

You know what the best card you can honestly have is?
I can promise it's not Taker/HHH 2, they already had that match, them being older isn't going to make it better.

I think you might be right, WM has always supposedly be to bring the best they have, and the best guest appearence stars.
Not really a PPV to bring in new talent. Maybe promote some of the best new workers, but not really to bring or push new talent.
I have seen a lot of interviews, in which many wrestlers say: The goal in this bussiness is to get to WM, when you get to WM is because you are the best".
I think that was the reason Sabu didn't left the E until after he was in a match at WM.

Oh, I agree with that, and think that's a horrible choice for a matchup.

I am saying, however, that Jericho being on the WM is a good thing in my eyes.

I'm mroe upset about Taker/HHH 2 than anything, HHH isn't having great matches since he came back, Taker has been off for an entire year and is really old.
Jericho can still go im sure, so can Rock. HHH was getting blown up in a tag match.

They have more than enough wrestlers to fit 40 people in. You got to leave a few openings for surprise entries. 40 is the right amount , 30 not so much.

Yeah, I haven't seen anyone who's happy with that match decision.

Hopefully that gets changed to something else.

Way I see it, the Rumble is the best match the WWE puts on and the more guys there are in, the longer it goes, so I'm all for 40.
