While wwe probably has a good reason for cutting the match so short, I was disappointed we didn't see a full match. But I was just as disappointed in this match as I was Edge's, with Alberto Del Rio at last year's WM. I felt like the WHC just wasn't something they wanted to really focus on and it had less to do with the people that were in the match.
In a way this negates the impact of the Royal Rumble outcome.

I take it back, i like this theory
"I legitimately think this booking decision was motivated by WWE's obsession with Twitter. Think about it:
- They want to TREND and want to start TRENDING as soon as the show begins.
- So they put the Daniel Bryan match on first and, knowing that Bryan is an internet darling, fuck him over in an infuriatingly dramatic way. Leading to..
- All the enraged internet nerds tweeting about Bryan and Mania, allowing WWE to boast about immediate TRENDS and get that all important hashtag rolling. "
