He's a heel!
Heel's don't do things that the crowd wants them to do, the first time people reached out for bags is the moment they should have stopped doing it.
Bags on opponents head is win, the time Zeke stood up behind teddy with a bag on his head was friggen comedy gold.

He did it to both of them and neither one did anything about it even though the crowd was begging them to turn face. I think that was the reason Randy Orton ended up a face. Once that happened nobody wanted to root for them. So once they broke up the team Randy was the victim of a two one fight against two lackeys/friends who betrayed him for the championship and he overcame the odds to win. After that people started cheering him even though he was still being evil.
I finally broke down and watched the Kidd/Yoshi and Regal/Young matches from this week's NXT (I haven't watched any of it since it went off the air). I'm not a huge Yoshi fan, but that was a good match. Maybe the gimmick overhaul will work. I didn't notice a huge difference in his in-ring work, but he and Kidd clearly have had some issues, and they had an intense match.
The Regal/Young match was really good - if WWE's not going to put Regal on TV every week, I don't mind him going out there and working semi-TV matches with the new guys. If you can't figure it out with Regal, you probably don't deserve to move up the card. I don't know if Young is ready to do more, but this match isn't going to hurt his cause.
The story i've heard about Regal is, everyone in the company likes him, Vince likes him, but Vince doesn't like him in the ring.
I'm shocked he isn't an agent, unless he is and i missed it, him and Finlay back when he was seemed like natural fits for the job. Especialy since they worked in the more modern times, as opposed to guys like Steamboat or Andersen.

I don't know how to say that I can see where Vince is coming from, but that I disagree and am a big fan of Regal's. So I'll just say it that way.
Regal's stuff always looks brutal (in a good way), it makes perfect sense, and he looks like he's trying to really hurt his opponent. It's not flashy at all, it's just fundamentally perfect. Of course, that might not work with the younger audience, who haven't seen enough matches to understand just how good Regal is. They're wrong, of course, but I can see it.
I hope Regal sticks around once he's finally done wrestling. It seems like he could fill any number of roles (manager, announcer, trainer, agent), and there's not a ton of guys I could say that about.
He has lasted a while - they said on NXT that he was the longest tenured wrestler in WWE (which can't be right - Undertaker for sure has been there longer).
His book is on my short list. I've got Foley's TNA book coming from the library, then I'm going to track down Regal's.
Yes, but even then Mark Henry still has about 2 years (debuted in 1996) on Regal (who debuted in late 1998).
(And I guess "tenured wrestler" means we're not counting HHH either, who has 3...)
As for the inevitable "how/why is Regal still there after all these years and with several periods of non/under-usage?", he and HHH are very good friends and have been for many years. That plus his value as a trainer and years of service probably mean Regal will go out on his own terms.
Tonight's Superstars episode was pretty good.
The only match I didn't really care for was JTG vs Welshtista. The tag match was rather solid for a match with Titus O'Neil in it (and it had Percy Watson. OH YEA!). Tamina vs Alicia was much better than I thought it would be. And D-Bryan vs Slater was good as well.
