I can sort of buy Orton being outside of it given his recent suspension or whatever... but by Wrestlemania at least I think he'd be the guy going for the world title. I frankly assumed the reason he was moved to the Smackdown brand in the first place was to help carry that brand because it lacked star power. Though Shemus, to his credit at least has done alright.
i agree, the feud doesn't need the title, i think the title might need the feud.

i've enjoyed orton being away from the title, it's allowed him to wrestle a variety of different wrestlers over the last few months and he's shown the ability to work well with just about anybody.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

For those of you who have twitter and follow JBL, you already know that he and Josh Matthews have some good natured jousting going on. The other day JBL tweeted something to the effect of how Josh Matthew's family must have been at an event and attached a photo of Matthews holding a sign that said "Josh Matthews is Awesome." I noticed in the photo that Matthews was wearing a thumb ring and replied to both "Is that a thumb ring? Really? Really" ... much to my amazement JBL replied about 15 minutes later something to the effect that 'yes, as you can see josh matthews wears a thumb ring #whoamIworkingwith' ... too damn funny. I'm so glad JBL is back doing commentary.

Fifth Wrestler Removed From WWE NXT Roster, Pepper Parks Works WWE Match
    By Daniel Pena
    Nov 18, 2012 - 1:12:03 PM

    - Fandango's dark match opponent at Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Cleveland, Ohio, was journeyman wrestler Pepper Parks.

The 13-year independent wrestling circuit veteran was profiled the week before by SLAM! Wrestling (article available here). Despite being over 30-years-old and apparently not meeting WWE's size standard, he continues to vie for a WWE contract.

"A while back, WWE was going through this thing, where they were saying that they didn't want to hire 'rookies.' But a lot of things have changed with Triple H taking over and everything," Parks said. "I know guys personally who have gotten signed and are close to 30. I don't listen to any of that stuff, because I don't think age or height or look really matter, as long as you have what it takes, and you have what they're looking for."

I wonder how many people notice the handshake between Miz and Cena.
McKenstry those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.

It was the most lucha match I've seen on WWE in awhile. Del Rio hit the armbreaker from a top-rope armdrag with virtually no prior working on the arm.

JBL Describes Chaos Backstage at SmackDown When the Sprinkler System Went Off
    By Marc Middleton
    Nov 29, 2012 - 8:07:56 AM

    - We noted earlier that there was a backstage incident at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings in Bossier City, Louisiana where the fire alarms went off. There was actually chaos backstage and JBL provided the following recap on his Facebook:

"I was doing commentary so I missed the exact facts of what happened, but here's what I know. I had finished Main Event (Miz was returning from Middle East so I was filling in) and coming back to change my suit and tie to go back out for Smackdown.

I see total chaos. Apparently Dave Kapoor (who is Great Khali's working 'brother') was filming a backstage segment and a light either burst or got too close to a sprinkler and set off the fire sprinklers in the dressing room I had my stuff in.

The force of the water was unreal. Guys were trying to save our stuff in the dark (we all had computers, clothes etc) and also trying to figure out a way to get the water off. The alarm had sounded it looked like the filming of the sinking of the Titanic.

I'm in the room trying to get my extra suit and computer as my stuff was right under the sprinkler, guys were helping me with flashlights in the darkness.

The alarm was saying to evacuate the building.

Triple H had left 'Gorilla' and was directing guys to put towels down to keep the flooding in one area, it was a ton of water. Our whole crew was back there trying to figure out how to keep the water in one room. It was unreal seeing guys trying to stop something minor before it became something major. If all the sprinklers had come on, tons of stuff would have been ruined-fortunately it was only one dressing room

They all finally succeeded. Some guys stuff was ruined, poor Dave Kapoor was just soaked with horrible smelling water.

We tape up to four shows on Tuesdays, not to mention the backstage stuff-an incredible amount. The WWE did what we always do and adjusted to outside forces and taped the shows.

I think Cena gets flack a little too often for his selling ability, but sometimes he really does do a stinker job selling stuff.

It just honestly makes those he's up against look pretty bad. The guy is supposed to be keyfabe injured yet he still manages to Super Cena his way to defeating Ziggler and chase off a group of guys
