He did look like he was stepping on their hopes and dreams though, which I appreciate.

No, they should do whatever they can to ignore that's hes goldberg, just canned cheers.
He can get cheered, he's done the spot where he picks two dudes up twice now, they pop everytime.
Also, don't put him on ppv until you put him in a real match.

I get the feeling that by the time Mark Henry returns he'll be the guy that can test Ryback.

If they really want to push Ryback, like really really want to push him, it should be a mark henry, or a kane, or a big show. It doesn't matter if the match sucks, if they are going to do it anyway, it has to be one of these big monsters who have been there long enough that they know how to work a match.

They SHOULD have feuded Ryback with Kane instead of forcing Kane in the Danielson/Punk feud, personally I'd rather they have a three way feud between Punk/Danielson/Ziggler. Still Kane would have been the stepping stone that Ryback needs when it comes to having a serious match

Kane isn't strong enough now for it to mean a whole lot. Besides, best Kanes been used in ages.

At this point in his career, I think Ryback beating Kane would actually mean a lot.

Kane's not a top tier main eventer... but he's just a notch below that. To build up to feuding with the Cena's and the CM Punks, you probably need to have a few mid-card and upper mid-card feuds along the way. A win over Kane is a HUGE step from just beating no name jobbers in squash matches.

If they built Daniel Bryan up so he was something, he would be a good match for Ryback after he kills a monster.
The thing is, Punk doesn't really have good matches with bad wrestlers, Bryan does. Cena is too big for him to go after at this point.

The problem with that is WWE is more likely to have Ryback squash Danielson instead of trusting him enough to give Ryback a good match. Which could hurt Ryback in the long run as he'd end up like Brodus in that the fans will start to turn on him due to his constant squash matches, especially against wrestlers who shouldn't be on the recieving end of that

It's tricky feuding 2 guys you simotanously want to push. Kane is easy... at this point Kane is mostly there to help push someone else at least in the long run. But with Ryback and Bryans, you sort of have to worry about elevating both without it coming at the expense of the other. And that's hard to do, especially if one person can't necessarily be counted on to deliver a good match. If the match is good, then both can be elevated regardless of who wins or loses.

Then again, if Ryback really sucks then he probably shouldn't be put in that position in the first place. I know that's not how it always work... but ideally he should only be working at that level when he's ready.

They won't do that at this point, im pretty sure of it.
They haven't put Bryan on tv this much because they think he can't wrestle. And squashing a small guy doesn't mean anything.

Yeah, unless it's a Wrestlemania I don't think Bryans will be squashed either. He'll probably get bounced around a lot, but that's textbook big man vs cowardly heel booking. In the least it won't suck with D Bryan in there. I don't think anyone can literally carry anyone, but Bryan is probably as close to that as anyone else in the company right now.
