Default CBR: "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" Trailer Debuts

Nicolas Cage is back as Marvel Comics flaming skull vigilante in a new film from "Crank" directors Neveldine and Taylor with plenty of highway carnage on display as CBR has full screen caps.

The direction for this is looking much better than that of the first movie.

My problem is just Nic Cage. His interpretation of Blaze is one of the low points of the first film. I'm just not buying him as cynical or tormented. The hair piece doesn't help either. Sony really should've started from scratch and re-casted. Just buy out Cage's contract and recast.

I first looked at the intro with the directors and thought... oh, this can't be good. They were so serious. Too serious. Like they were the coolest people of the face of the earth. But then the trailer started... and it was quite good. Color me interested.

This does look way better than the first one...the only problem I have is Nicolas Cage AS Johnny Blaze. Not a great fit.

So the kid is Danny right?

EDIT: I'm a bit more apprehensive about this after checking out Taylor's and Neveldine's credits. Jonah Hex. Nuff said!

It's the Crank guys. Cinematically, I don't think there is anything serious about them.

For that matter, if Cage can do what he did in Drive Angry...

OK, part of what Cage did in Drive Angry was have Bill Fitchner next to him. Which usually helps. Now that is a character actor. Hey, remember when Nic Cage was a respected actor?

Yeah, no matter how cool the effects look, the minute his face shows up on screen it's a come down. Anyway, this looks like a good case of good trailer trying to overcome a bad movie to me. Personally, I just don't think Ghost Rider is well suited to big screen treatment.

Ghost Rider has all the earmarks of a great Big Screen property. Horror, comedy, drama, suspense, action, EFX...

It just needs an actor more suited to the role. Cage is too old to be playing Johnny Blaze. He has the acting chops for the role, but he hasn't utilized that skill in a while. He mainly takes roles that are fluff pieces and don't require him to stretch much if at all.

Better action sequences would help this thing. Glad to see they're going for that.

Other than Ghost Rider vs. the cops, the first one was pretty weak in all the action, particularly the anti-climactic supernatural fights.

Looks like they're going for some serious action scenes in this one. Which was one of the things that was lacking in the first one.

Still 'eh' on Nick Cage and this movie in general but it looks like it could be fun.

They messed up that whole trailer with the stupid pee joke at the end.
Anyway, some of those actions scenes looked real good. Hopefully there is a story there to match it.

Looks like shit. Everyone involved is a hack. This'll bomb. At least no one will be expecting it to be a hit. Why bother even making it? Garbage. Ass. Shitty character who can't even hold a monthly comic down. Waste. Utter crap. Artistically bankrupt, from the looks of the trailer. Silly-looking CGI. God, was that first movie silly. I laughed my ass of about ten times in the first fifteen minutes and then turned it off. Rubbish. This looks like much of the same.

Every fanboy cliche'd over reaction to a first trailer all in one post? Wow. You are good. Post of the year.
