Default B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: Russia

Kate Corrigan has been my favourite BPRD character ever since The Universal Machine and she's a key part of the BPRD, has been for more than 15 years now, yet she's never been on the cover of a trade paperback.

    How is this even possible?

If in Russia Kate is going to be one of the primary characters as the blurb from the solicitations have led me to believe, it may be the perfect book to change this. And she looks good on a cover too; just take a look a this:

And she doesn't have to appear alone there either, I just need her to make an appearance. OK, I'm done with my insane rant now.

It's a solid complaint, Middenway, but a blond lady just isn't as visually appealing as a guy with a plastic head, or a fish/frog man.

It's the result of being very bored at work. And while I love the fish-man covers (the cover for Gods and Monsters is already one of my all-time favourites), it would be nice to see Kate standing next to the fish-man.
I've no doubt it'll happen eventually, especially with Liz being off on her own and Abe being phased out of the BPRD and into the Abe Sapien series. We'll be seeing a lot of Kate, Johann, Panya and Andrew Devon on covers before long.

I'm with ya, middenway. The fact that Kate doesn't get featured on covers means we basically never get to see Mike's rendition of her. When we DO, it is indeed a treat.

Love that UM#5 cover. Kate is obviously holding the severed, bloody ring finger of that French Marquis. Classic stuff beautifully rendered by Mr. Mike

I'm loving the Dave Johnson covers for this series!

So beautifully designerly and referencing old Soviet propaganda posters. Fantastic stuff! I'm guessing that the logo on the shackle in the second one is the symbol for the Russian Occult Bureau .
    Recent Nature Sightings:

According the Dave Johnson, that last one's Russian characters mean 'wall of meat'.

It's kind of a shame that these beautiful covers will have a wall of a title slapped over them:

    B.P.R.D.
    HELL ON EARTH:
    RUSSIA
    Recent Nature Sightings:
Sept 24: Two Orcas close to shore.

Ugh, what the hell were the Russkies up to?
It would seem that in the Mignolaverse they, like the Nazis, had little hesitation to experiment with the paranormal / occult artifacts they encountered.
Certainly Varvara had no problems with the occasional collateral damage and/or human casualty along the way.
    Creepy!
