Amazing. Ennis' last sentence about DC. To this point, I wonder if there isn't a clause in each Marvels contracts that says : "Bash the concurrency".
To this point, we can't have any objective discussions with almost every Marvel authors.

I remember , precisely, Joe Casey ( I guess that is in Tim Calhahan 'column) saying FINAL CRISIS was the last and most interesting tries in terms of events, that it influenced him for VENGEANCE, and "dementing" less than a week later, under the pretext of something about the DC relaunch, like this is the best thing they can do coz their books sucks...

And now Ennis, who doesn't seem to know where he works. Pathetic.

Actually, when I heard about the Brit Invasion, I always think to Milligan, Gaiman and Morrison, with the shadow of Alan Moore having provided the first impulse, a little while ahead. Always seen Ennis, or Millar, like people who catched the wind at the very last moment.

The guy shouldn't even open his mouth.

Ennis doesn't work at Marvel. Last book he did for Marvel was the Max Punisher book and that was, what? 3 years ago? I'd be surprised if Ennis was sticking to any party lines that he isn't a part of.

And you should be too upset over what Joe Casey says about DC, he thinks that almost all superhero comics suck. So, him saying that about DC's relaunch is basically him saying "Yep, I'm still Joe Casey."

    Always classy, CBR.

Yes, pretty much. Considering many cities are spending today cleaning up, and in some cases like Bristol and London, are still experiencing violent disturbances, a wee bit more sensitivity is in order.

Ennis' final words about Vertigo is a really hard pill to swallow. He's right that Vertigo seems to be slowly dying off. I so wish that wasn't the case, but the writing seems to be slowly written on the wall.

You dont have to like Ennis but he is one of the most known, acclaimed brit writers. Milligan, Millar has not written Hellblazer classic runs, Preacher, Punisher, War Stories, Hitman etc

He is an A-list writer that can do whatever he wants. He doesnt need Marvel or Dc.

Ennis at the last moment of Bri invasion ? He has several of the most classic Vertigo series.
    Pull List:

    American Vampire,Animal Man,Swamp Thing

    >> c'mon, "DC turning in a marketing machine". The guy is outer-space now.
I would give him reason if the DCnU was turning Top Cow/Image as we could think (Lee, Finch..WTF !! these guys didn't evolve since the 90', Lee was better at his starts !!) but DC Dark and Edge are destined to a small audience (the Brit Invasion fans actually, and more hard-core readers as well - while remaining reader-friendly and open to new audiences) and this is far from a "win-in-advance" throw..

about Joe Casey, you made a point. Which made me think he too shouldn't open his mouth if that's all he has to say.

    >> always though the Brit Invasion actually stopped when Vertigo' began.
Morrison, Gaiman and Milligan (alongside Jamie Delano I'm guessing) were already "established" authors at the time -and then ended to be during the Vertigo years.

But ok I'm not here to question the guy' status, hadn't read his HELLBLAZER, which interests me the most, but his PREACHER and PUNISHER had the same effect on me than Mc Donald : quickly ingested, quickly evacuated..

I really LOVE Garth Ennis work, but it's sad seeing him slowly turning into a bitter old man, just like Alan Moore.

I don't think Garth Ennis is bitter.

I think he's frustrated at the way comic books are going and the determination of the Big Two to make life hard for themselves and everybody else.

The industry is being driven into the ground by the sheer volume of pap being produced.

Listening to Grant Morrison talk about superheroes is a joke. The guy is wasting his talent. Grow up Grant.

Pretty much, and to be honest I'm fucked off hearing anyone who dares criticise superhero comics as a 'bitter old man'.

Grant knows exactly what he's doing and although he says he's doing something he loves, he can do better and he knows it too.
