I unfailingly buy everything Hickman writes. He's the best new talent to come to Marvel in a long time, and it's exciting to know that he's just getting started.
Is Hickman exclusive with Marvel? Or is the possibility of him doing a Legion book soon not that far out of reality?
DC is really pissing me off with their reluctance to go after new talent. Even when they have new promising talent, somehow they screw it up and allow them to run off to Marvel. Just about all the big names at Marvel started at DC first. What goes on in that company that there is no talent retention?
Not continuing to buy books in the Ultimate Universe will be especially hard knowing such a great writer is on board.
I know! I've never dipped my toes into the Ultimate water, for many reasons. I don't see me following Hickman there. It's actually annoying to me they're using him THERE instead of in the 616. If this takes him away from FF I'll be pretty dissappointed. He's already ended Secret Warriors (and it seems it was cut short at that from what was initially intended). I hope his run on FF doesn't end before he's ready to leave.
I realize Marvel wants to sell books period, no matter the branding, but I still believe the 616 is where the core "architects" should reside, and they do for the most part. But I have to say this is dissappointing news to me. No offense to anyone, especially Hickman - good for him to get multiple books as often as he wants - I just wish he'd stay in the 616. My gripe is now over.
