How about the Captain Blood series from SLG that started a couple of years ago? The first two issues were great, but #3 is long, long overdue.
matthewe.com: updates on the superhero novel-in-progress Ded & Sac, the Superhero of the Day, and more.
When my roommate first got into comics, this was his favorite stuff out there. He collected the Newuniversal stuff Ellis did before Shockfront and loved it. The first two issues of Shockfront were amazing.... Stinks that it'll never get resolved.
I feel so much fucking sadness over Baron Von Shock being dead. I really wish we could see how the story ends in #5.
"Heads up-- If Havok's position in UA #5 really upset you, it's time to drown yourself hobo piss. Seriously, do it. It's the only solution." - Rick Remender
Sucks 200 character limit.
too bad gutsville has been canceled; it was an excellent book with an amazing concept. i guess the price of fame is that personal endeavors fall to the wayside.

Fun read. Lotta books lots to the wicked ether of the eternal deadline.
Quick update, however...
SPAWN 210 is actually hitting shelves next Wednesday, so you can update its entry to read...
STATUS: On sale NEXT WEDNESDAY, August 10, 2011
Technically, 210 was re-solicited for an August release in May of this year, so as of that scheduled release it's on time. Sure, when calculating from its originally intended release time frame, the article is dead-on. And, while "late is late" in the grand scheme of things, at least the effort was made to get the book back on track for readers and retailers with a consistent monthly release schedule beginning with the re-solicitation of SPAWN 203 last October.
In fact, since January, eleven issues of SPAWN have been released (counting 210), so the book has been hitting its scheduled releases for a while. On top of which, we're still a number of issues ahead in terms of production vs. what's on-shelf, so SPAWN will be out monthly for the foreseeable future with big plans gearing up for next year's 20th Anniversary.
If you want to check out a preview of SPAWN 210, below is a link to an album on Todd's Facebook Fan Page, which contains the updated cover (by Michael Golden) and three pages of lettered/colored interior art, along with black-and-white, art-only versions of those same pages...
SPAWN 210 PREVIEW
To be clear, this wasn't meant as a knock against the "Late List" article, I honestly enjoyed it quite a bit. Just wanted to pop in with the updated info related to the SPAWN 210 entry to ensure the details provided where accurate.

Attention! Invading alien scum! I am Bentley, scourge of man, destroyer of hope, and I also have a passing interest in dinosaurs -- Prepare to surrender now!
Not quite -- though that would be something.
The point is that there will be 15 issues of SPAWN released in 2011. Issue 210 hits next Wednesday (8/10), which will be the eleventh issue since January, with four more issues coming monthly from September through December.
For the first few months of the year SPAWN was bi-weekly as the book caught up to the newly re-solicited issues and to maintain a certain pacing within the story, which was more deliberate than what was presented in the book previously.
Does that clear up any confusion?

Ahh. My mistake, I thought the article meant no Spawns had come out this year.

Chandler: Red Tide is the one I very much looking forward to in 3 weeks.
Though, I have the original which was printed back in the 70's, in half the comic book standard size but inside content remained classically timeless.
Someone already mentioned Blue Monday in the other Late List thread, but what about Pirates of Coney Island? The delays were supposedly caused by the artist's health issues. Becky Cloonan could fill in for Vasilis Lolos and I'd have no problem with that. I'm glad to see updates on a lot of my long awaited books here (War Heroes, Anna Mercury, and Newuniversal to name a few) even if a bunch of them have been canceled. Runaways in 2012!
The dreams and ideas of free men are as an army of shadows, and as impossible to strike down...
"Yes, you're better than you ever were, but I'm still me."
Is there precedent for a series being relaunched after 5 issues?
