There are rumours that Christopher Eccleston may be returning for the 50th anniversary special.

And it's presumably based on a misquote from Eccleston:

His major problem with the production crew hasn't worked on the programme for years, and seeing as he's done plenty of work for the BBC since he seems less pissed off with how the BBC handled things at the time.

The main thing is convincing someone who's made it clear he doesn't go back over old ground to come back and go over old ground.

The Today programme had a nice piece about the series of short stories being released each month running up the the 50th anniversary.

Are these the stories that are going to be a BBC/Big Finish co-production?

I'm kinda disappointed that tonight's special on the First Doctor on BBC America was barely thirty minutes! I was hoping it would at least be an hour. Oh well. It is nice to see an episode of the "classic" series on television again. Have there ever been action figures made based off The Aztecs? I would love to have toys of Aztec Barbara and Aztec Ian.

The original Radio Times listing for the serial showing Barbara in full costume:

The Aztecs was one of the best First Doctor episodes. Sadly I failed to really convince anyone I know to tune in to the special.
Oh well. Any ideas yet what/when the Second Doctor Special will be?

I am hoping they will do a marathon of them all at once so I can Classic Who fan-boy out.
