I have mixed feelings on the new companion. I feel like Moffat is trying too hard to point out "Omg look! Witty banter!"

I don't know if it was the 3-month drought of Who or the charm of Jenna-Louise Coleman, but this the special was my favorite episode of Who since early series 6. Great stuff.

Finally got around to watch the Xmas Special (had to work both days) and I just read the thread. I find it funny that everbody is talking that Richard E. Grant was wasted. How about Sir Ian McKellan? At least Grant got to do a little acting instead of just a few voiceover lines.

I just assumed that was all the guy had time for.
