I did love the Doctor-as-Sherlock scene...
That reminds me, I've got to check Youtube to see if the little kid who reviews Who has posted a video yet...
The Silence should believe The Doctor dead now, but there's still that whole "fall of the eleventh on the fields of Transalor when the question is asked" prophecy that he has to deal with.
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...
I'm wondering how many versions of the T.A.R.D.I.S. console/interior there have been? I remember in "The Doctor's Wife" The Doctor mentions he's only "changed the desktop a dozen times".
I believe this is when he will tell River his name, might even be the 12th Doctor who does it.

Counting the EU, Seven times, five on tv
...And does Mr. Goddanm Batman says so much as ''Thanks''? OF COURSE not. That'd hardly be GRIM AND GRITTY, would it?
The jerk...

Every year though? That's the thing, it's been something that's been part of virtually every series since it returned, just like the 'love conquers all' solution is something Moffat's era is battering to death but at least the Christmas special saw a variation upon it, but it's still a sign Moffat needs someone telling him to go away and have a good think about what he's done.
The BBC have a policy of not creating any more spin offs and concentrating on creating new drama rather than diluting the programmes they already have, so unless there's a change of policy, you won't see anything like that in the telly, not to mention that would be a programme too far. I'm sure the characters will pop up in the books or elsewhere, and you did touch on how many plates Moffat is spinning (which seems to be one reason why last year's Christmas special was shite) so one more wouldn't help at all, also the idea of letting Chibnall near anything again to do with Who after the mess of Torchwood isn't going to gain any tractions anywhere. Gatiss however seems to be in pole position to be a possible replacement for Moffat when he leaves.
I got series 5 and 6 for Christmas and one thing that stands out is how well put together(Vincent and the Doctor is simply the best bit of new Who that's been done) series 5 is. There's lots of hints and clues to things that will come; River Song isn't annoying; Karen Gillan can't act but she makes a great companion; the character of Rory is a revelation for the programme; Matt Smith's excellent even when struggling with crap like Victory of the Daleks; and the climax of the series is great but it's also when Moffat sets more plates spinning, a lot of which he's not resolved deliberately but some he fudges, including the character of River Song so by the time you get to A Good Man Went to War you realise Moffat is throwing all this together as he's going along so that he's forgetting about some of the plates he's spinning.
Series 6 kind of resolves the Silence, but doesn't tell us who blew up the Tardis or why the Doctor kind of shrugs something so important off because series 6 is a mess of half formed ideas and it's annoying because Moffat's great at ideas but doesn't seem to able to either follow them through or develop them which is a bizarre thing for someone who wrote Blink and the Girl in the Fireplace but it hits a nadir with Let's Kill Hitler which is just a mess.
So basically, no. I assume this might be wrapped up in the Anniversary special/s but I wouldn't count on it.
Here's a sight which features an excellent history of the console room (and other props and sets) http://www.themindrobber.co.uk

Finally got around to watch the Xmas Special (had to work both days) and I just read the thread. I find it funny that everbody is talking that Richard E. Grant was wasted. How about Sir Ian McKellan? At least Grant got to do a little acting instead of just a few voiceover lines.
But overall I liked the special and I want to see more Vastra, Jenny and Strax.
It was during one of the annual budget reviews that showed the Beeb were spending nothing like what they should on original drama programming, and it was Torchwood which was used as one of the examples. I have to agree with it because the BBC hasn't the money to develop new programming and milk programmes like Who for all it's worth, nor should they.
Me and a friend joked about the Doctor Who DVD prices here at stores and we brought up how many are moving to blu-rays now. How shows and more are going to blu-ray releases.
Me - "Could you imagine the prices they want for Doctor Who blu-ray ?"
Him - "If they want $70 bucks for 13 episodes for a season , likely over $100 for blu-ray."
"Heads up-- If Havok's position in UA #5 really upset you, it's time to drown yourself hobo piss. Seriously, do it. It's the only solution." - Rick Remender
Sucks 200 character limit.
