I think one of the most interesting aspects of Capt Victory is (from what I heard) that Kirby gave hints here and there that he was the son of Orion, and the grandson of Darkseid. Of course, it's all "unofficial" since DC had the rights to the latter two -- but an interesting connection nonetheless. Hope it gets intimated in some way in the book (like the Green Hornet being the grand nephew of the Lone Ranger sometimes is).
Looking forward to this.
i read in the book Kirby: King Of Comics that Captain Victory was inspired by Star Wars.
can't wait to read this!
Well, I hope they also do a reprint of the original series (I really don't want to have to dig out my original copies from the bedroom at my parents to re-read them).
Image was going to do it (like they did with Silver Star), but problems getting the original art and such delayed and delayed it. Then the rights went to Dynamite.
I recall they were going to reprint the PC issues, and also what was done for Topps as well.
Same here. That's one of the reasons why I've always been interested in checking out those old Captain Victory stories. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. There is an interesting read here, http://books.google.com/books?id=KI-...page&q&f=false , concerning Captain Victory and the Fourth World.
I can't wait to check out the new Dynamite series.
Batman, GL, Miss Fury, Uncanny X-Men, Hypernaturals, Witch Doctor, Casanova, Green Arrow, COPRA. +A bunch of trades every month.

Sterling Gates!
Very nice to hear this KIRBY GENESIS series continues (in some fashion)....
Is this an ongoing or a mini? I sure hope it's an ongoing series since that would be a great way to get this universe up and running with a premiere monthly title like this on store shelves.
Count me in as excited!
I'm not certainly adding this....
We get to buy good comics and the Kirby heirs get some royalties..... that's win, win right?
I do hope that some of the plot threads left hanging from the old series get wraped up. With the annual, there were 14 issues.I dont know the details of what went wrong with pacific comics, I liked them. They were the first direct sales comic company I beleave.I'll give these new ones a try, just for the great covers,if nothing else.
I was wondering when we'd learn which series would spin out of Genesis. Captain Victory was the obvious choice, as the most fully developed and recognised of these characters. the original Kirby run is a personal favourite of mine. I'll definitely be checking this new series out.
I'd love for Gates to follow through on this concept. Maybe that's what the article is referring to when they talk about Captain Victory "harboring a terrible secret, the kind that could destroy not only the Galactic Rangers, but could bring about the destruction of all of time and space!"
