Default How high do you stack your comic boxes?

Both long and short? I mainly buy long boxes and I stack them five high. Is there a limit?

I have a few short boxes and I stack them five high as well.

I find if I go higher than four, the bottom one ends up a little squashed. But then, I'm in a fairly humid environment so sometimes the boxes are a little damp.

When the box walls crumple. You've exceeded the limit.

I don't use boxes, I just stack my books on bookshelves. When my last row hits the ceiling, I need a new shelf.

Four. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to easily look into the topmost boxes.

I've also found that five is one too many. If you have bagged and boarded books in the bottom box the tops can get bent by the weight. I do have some stacked five high regardless because of space issues, but at least the ones on top are short boxes.

Four seems to be fine, though.

I had saw where someone took long boxes and short ones. Put the short boxes 3 across and kept stacking up to go 5-6 high. I don't do it.

I stack my short boxes four high. When I tried to go up to five, the bottom box was getting slightly crushed. When I used to have long boxes, I only went two high, again because going one higher was crushing the bottom box. Long boxes are more of a hassle for storage, so I got rid of mine and switched to all short boxes.

Three. That's about chest height for me. Tall enough to be space efficient given how many boxes I have, but still low enough that I can use my legs to lift the upper boxes down. Something that has become even more important since I injured my back and I now have to always lift with proper lifting posture.

Four high is ideal, but I was forced into 5/6 before my collection went up in smoke (and fire). Wasn't too bad, but if you have time to rotate boxes every now and again to keep the bottom ones from settling in and crushing that wouldn't hurt.

Three. Going four would be fine and sometimes I do stack short boxes on top of them but I like the height at three high and use the top as a little area for digging and organizing comics. Also, less of a pain getting to the bottom box that way.
