No. The world-tree seed is a "cosmic Egg". A hyper-dense piece of energy/matter fusion that can birth Universes. The same type of object that gave rise to our own Universe ( fictional or otherwise) and gave Galactus his nigh-omnipotent Cosmic powers.
I have no f***in' clue what these Celestial Life/Death Seeds are, because I don't read X-force because of the evil that was every other series of it to date.
My resolve weakens at times, but I will NOT give in! DEATH TO X-FORCE!!
It seems like a fairly dumb-ass plot-line tho'... Because:
1. Apocalypse have been revealed to be one of the Celestials many experiments. They one-shotted him in "The Blood of Apocalypse" storyline in 1 second flat.
2. The Celestials have such high levels of Cosmic powers that most of the time they are even more powerful than Galactus himself. They are cosmically aware as well, making them near-unbeatable. In fact, it has been hinted that their very cosmic energy-wake ( let's call it... Celestial sweat) is so intense, that unless they reel it in, it can destroy entire worlds, without them hardly lifting a finger! ( see Heroes Return)
All in all, I call Bull-shit on Apocalypse being able to beat a Celestial. He doesn't have the know-how or the power to pull off such a thing. Remender must be frakkin' high or something.
