It's tough casting for Dr Strange, isn't it? Do you go for the big name actor who can attract the crowd (RDJ, Chris Evans) or for the talent but without the same amount of pull - I definitely think Cusack could fit Strange, his new movie "The Raven" looks like a great audition for it! And Caviezel would be a pretty badass Dr Strange: I like it. It's tough casting, because I don't think he's quite got that same attraction/recognition that non-comic reading fanbases would be interested in seeing.

So far as attraction/recognition goes, I think that you're right that Cusack would be a good choice. Would he be interested in doing this sort of a role though? If it was a hit like the Thor and Iron Man movies, there's a good chance that there would be sequels and appearances in other Marvel films. Since Strange is a lesser known character, I could see Marvel going for someone with a lot of name recognition to draw in the audience.
I think I might have been mixing up Cusack and Sean Penn when I was thinking about his height.
Comics got delivered today, three weeks worth and really excited for Defenders 5 :)
I know, right! NEED DEFENDERS. I thought it was awesome Defenders had continued to come out on the same week of the month - very similar to the way DC are handling their schedule atm.
Cusack has done weird films before
Like I said, check out "The Raven" trailer, where he plays a detective in the Poe days. And 1408... I think it just depends on how crazy they'd be willing to go for the movie?
I reckon, 10-15 years ago, Gary Oldman would have been pretty good for the role. I know your predilection towards having an Englishman play Strange, but still - Oldman can be whatever nationality he wants to be, he's that good.

OR, what about Matthew Bomer? The one from White Collar?

i like the actor. i think i might have even suggested him as Strange before. but he's kind of a pretty boy and i know some Strange fans don't like that. i think he could do arrogant surgeon well. i think he can pull off quirky. but i have doubts about him being able to play down-and-out or humble for the Ancient One training scenes. but good pick, anyways.
Cillian Murphy or Billy Crudup would be good candidates for Dr. Strange.
Let's say they do make a Strange movie - what costume should he have?

Favorite choice for Strange would be Dr. House himself but maybe it would be too close to his tv character?

He's a top actor, but I'm not feeling it... :/
I just can't see him on a big-budget, "superhero" movie poster.

Forgive the bump, but I just read issue 5 of Defenders and I gotta say...it was hideous, the art work I mean, it looks like it wasn't finished before it hit print!
