The defenders was an amazing comic, the fact that the original members didnt get on that well lead to an intresting spin on the storys.
I am glad that they will be doing something with them again in some form but to be honest doubt that they will e able to recapture the magic of the original. saying that the recent one shot was definatly a fun read
Thanks for posting that its really nice and your so lucky to have it
@mortari
That is gorgeous! So vivid. Congrats! And thank you for sharing.
Yeah Hellcat was pretty cool, also found Devil Slayer interesting
That's similar to the Badger cover that was used for issue #4.
Hellcat is a briliant character though she dose have shocking taste in men. I always though her first hubby Mad dog should of been used more he would work perfectly in heros for hire as a sort of head henchman type.
My favorite overall arc was the Six-Fingered Hand story. Just great seeing it become almost Marvel Team-Up Starring the Defenders with them encountering a new character each issue (Dracula, Man-Thing, Ghost Rider). But best story, to me, was DeMatteis' Miracle Man two-parter (#120-121). Just really brilliant use of a z-grade villain.
Favorite cover would have to be honorary - Gargoyle #1. Just outstanding and a true work of art.
Loved the Larsen revival partly because it was Larsen and partly because he involved so many obscure villains. Giffen's run was hilarious and a nice change of pace while still retaining the weirdness of the Defenders.
That was the first arc I bought! Actually, my subscription started an issue before that, with #93.
That was a great set of covers on that mini.
A couple of my favorites:
By Michael Golden. Hellcat didn't look nearly as cool inside, unfortunately.
Kevin Nowlan did a bunch of great ones for the final run.
This cover makes me wonder, was the idea of Angel/Archangel and Valkyre pairing ever developed somewhere? Archangel is a sort of war Angel (true, he is a fake one, I'm focusing on the theme), Valkyre isn't an angel, but is sort of a norse version of a war angel, and the little I know about either I think they could work personality wise. I also think that an Asgardianized version of angel would >>>>> his Archangel persona, his 'cute feathery' wings would be just as strong and bad ass as metal wings.
And let's not forget that Valkyre has experience riding winged horses ;)
