The idea of MJ getting Spider-Powers and teaming up with Peter excites me, I think there's a lot of potential for fun and good ol' Spidey-drama.

I feel like we've been waiting on this damn event forever, even with multiple issues a month. When does #666 come out again?

Wonder what this means? Betty breaks up with Flash? Or Betty dies?

I'm thinking it might be his dad who dies, actually.

    Two thoughts.

For some that seems to happen towards the end of Spider-Island, Marvel's been promoting the hell out of MJ with spider-powers.

    spoilers:
Betty might be the member of the supporting cast who makes the ultimate sacrifice. It would certainly impact events in Venom. Or it could be that the death in Venom is also the death in Amazing Spider-Man.
    end of spoilers

Perhaps and this does seem the most likely scenario. The problem I have with it is that it lessens the impact of the last issue (ASM #665) if so; then again, the death of Peter in USM also seemed curious after the relatively recent events of "Ultimatum" and the "Requiem" mini thereafter.

I have simliar feelings that death is unlikely and breaking up is probably the way its going leading up to a love triangle with Betty/Peter/flash thing going on.

Eh, I doubt it....that hardly qualifies as the "ultimate sacrifice" and this story is being pumped as being pretty major. Someone bites it.

I still say them using ultimate sacrifice means they arent playing the death card. But even if true doesnt mean someone cant die and Betty breaks up with him.

Which is why I'm thinking that one of the end results of "Spider-Island" is that, after New York is cured--spoilers:
probably with a supped-up version of the spider-sense jammer Peter used in Amazing Spider-Man #654[/i]
end of spoilers-- MJ discovers that she somehow still has them. Which may explain why she's reacting the way she is in that teaser image from the back-up in Amazing Spider-Man #654.1 and the Free Comic Book Day issue.

    My guess is that spoilers:
Randy is the cast member who dies. Probably a combination of injuries he's suffered in his fight with the Hobgoblin and attempting to protect Norah and others from a horde of "man-spiders."
    end of spoilers

If that happens, as you say Stillanerd, then I am going to quit Spider-man, no questions ask.

I mean that was the ONE IDEA that I had for a future story that I would write to Marvel someday, and this happens. Almost all of my remaining faith in the Spider-man series has been dashed if that last remaining move is made.
