In a perfect World Captain America would have made what harry potter made in its first week. Lets hope the movie keeps making money.

I don't know if I should be surprised or not that it beat Thor.

That's great news. Glad to see that Cap is doing well at the box office.

I went in thinking it was gonna be Green Lantern. I was Ecstatic that it had more to offer.

Still, as a whole--Comic Book movies could be even better.

More people went to see Cap, but they paid less for the privilege. (a lot less folks saw it in 3D, and there was no IMAX release). Wonder how that will effect how the movie holds up.

CinemaScore says folks liked the Cap movie more than Thor, which is interesting. It attracted a younger crowd than Thor too (according to BoxofficeMojo), which is surprising to me.

Wonder how it will do overseas.

Capt. America was good... but Thor was great.

Glad it's not going to be considered a "flop" like Green Lantern and X-Men: First Class.

I have to see it again to form a more objective opinion, but Cap was far and away my favorite superhero movie. I've always been a fan of Cap, so this was a dream come true for me. I have to say, others in the theater LOVED it as well. I think the word of mouth on this movie will give it some staying power. I don't think it will keep number one wiht Cowboys coming, but it should do very well over the long haul.

I don't think XMFC was considered a flop. It did just under Thor and did better than GL. Plus, it got a ton of rave reviews. GL got trashed and did terrible at the box office.

My thoughts exactly. I think this one was a crowd-pleaser.

Oops, I forgot... DC = bad, Marvel = kewl.

The last time I bothered looking, GL's numbers were at 53 million and XM:FC was at 55 million. Not a huge enough difference to call one a flop but not the other. Just sayin'.

Except when you factor in budget.
