I still question just how is this different than that other "Faustain" deal that us Marvel readers have been dealt with lately.

No knock against the folks making this book BUT, replacing Johnny Blaze is not making me want to read this book.
Replacing him with a girl Ghost Rider is even stupider than "Vengence" was in the 90's.

I'd rather not have a Ghost Rider comic at all then this.

In 35 years of collecting comics, I've never felt that way about my favorite characters but between this and Moon Knight, I'm getting real tired of Marvel.
Not just them, Marvel has totally ruined Spider-man, The Avengers, The Hulk and so many of it's characters in the last few years ( to me) it's ridiculous.
Good stories don't mean crap if the characters are no longer recognizable or have strayed too far from what made them cool in the first place.

I don't want to jump in to any new books but the DC relaunch is sounding better and better all the time.

So you're dropping Marvel because the characters have strayed to far from what they were but are going to buy DC who has radically altered there characters from what they were!!!

good luck with this especially considring DCs track record after all it probably be all re-booted in couple of years!!

The reason I haven't hardly bought any DC books for years is because they radically altered everything in the late 80's and 90's. I can't stand legacy characters. I hate multiple versions of the same hero.
Marvel seems to be doing the same stupid stuff.

switching to DC is mostly hyperbole. The boat on that universe sailed years ago but with my Marvel pull slowly shrinking each month, it is getting tempting. Hell, before they brought back MK and GR's books, I only had one regular monthly book on my list as it is.

At least most of the movies don't suck.

Right but Marvel is only on first generation legacies. DC still has depending on the characters 1-4 generation legacies.

To the guy who complained about Johnny Blaze being replaced... Ghost Rider's biggest success was when a series started that replaced Johnny Blaze with a kid called Dan Ketch.

The logic is understandable, Johnny Blaze as a pretty weak character who unfortunately seems to have took the mantle up again seemingly just because he has a "cooler name" than Dan Ketch ever did.
I'd just like everyone to know that not only am I dropping Marvel, I'm dropping this forum considering I'm not even allowed to voice a negative opinion because a thread "isn't about me".

Honest to god I feel the same EXACT WAY. Ghost rider has been my favorite comic book character since I started reading comics almost 20 years ago. I won't pick this book up at all, why switch out blaze now?! Plus we've seen blaze in this role before when he did the same mentoring thing for Danny. Man this going to fail bad. I've Never been a D.C guy but that relaunch sounds amazing, Flashpoint and the tie-ins have been great! I'm kind of ashamed to say it but marvel is turning me into a DC fan...
    Titles Reading........................
    Ghost Rider--gone
    Captain Britain and M-13----gone
    Guardians of the Galaxy----gone
    Mighty Avengers----gone
    Incredible Hercules--gone

I've always wanted to start reading Ghost Rider and thought this would be the perfect jumping on point for me. I'm actually starting to believe they may replace Johnny Blaze for good here, which i would hate seeing how i want to read about him and not some chick Ghost Rider (who looks terrible as a GR btw)

I'll check this out, because i still have some doubt she stays as the Ghost Rider. No offense to anyone but i don't understand Marvel's logic in turning Ghost Rider into a girl, i figured most of the demographic for Ghost Rider would be guys. Would guys really want to read about a girl Ghost Rider?

    fresh-start-reader-friendly doesn't excuse everything..

Now we finally have a Johnny Blaze supposely well written, excepting that a sarcastic character is the easiest thing to write..

Now we have a female GR which could be interesting, excepting that Matthew Clark is doing it..

When Marvel will do things right ? WHEN ?

I say welcome to you ANIMAL MAN by Jeff Lemire and Travel Foreman, SWAMP THING by Scott Snyder and Yannick Paquette, DEADMAN by Paul Jenkins and Bernard Chang...WELCOME !!

Can't wait. I like the mainstream superhero look to the book and the fact that it's going on the road. And, I like books that travel to different realms. I do hope it sticks around for the long haul especially if I keep up with it.
New Avengers, Morbius The Living Vampire, Scarlet Spider, Iron Man, Fearless Defenders, Fantastic Four, Deadpool Killogy, Savage Wolverine, Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men & X-Force, Cable & X-Force, Gambit

So Ghost Rider is the Magdalena now? I guess it hasn't been revealed yet if the new host was trained by a religious order though.

Call me crazy but I think the whole "demon biker" visual made a lot more sense when the host body was a guy that, y'know, regularly dressed like a biker and rode around on a motorcycle.

    Still, somewhat curious.

Ah, memories of the 90's dollar bins at my local shop. Seriously though, the .1 issue was pretty good, although I expected that mystery guy to be the new Ghost Rider. Seeing it's going to be a girl was pretty surprising. I'll give it a shot for a few issues.
