Yeah, from the previews and previous work of its creators, Loose Ends has jumped to the top of my Pull List.
LaTour's a visual storyteller, a thinking man's cartoonist, and there's narrative in every color choice Renzi makes. I'm new to Brunner's pencils but he and LaTour seem to be of a similar cloth.
Great article (to me "Superhero" as a genre is about as apt as the musical genre of "Rock n Roll" which always seemed more apropos to Little Richard and his ilk) and I'll be crowing about this book as well. So should anyone who likes good comics.
I too had been impressed by the previews.
Long time no see a comics so well thinked, where everything is telling you something. I'm not enthusiastic as you about the colouring for having seen one or two Kyle Baker' things, especially some recents ones like his DEADPOOL MAX.
Brunner isn't also my cup of tea, but his work and approach kinda forces respect, one of the things I too felt was how incredibly alive the characters are, so I guess I'll end-up buying the trade to see where the story goes, and because I'm almost sure I'll have something consistent enough to read.
Thus I would say there's not so much good stuffs these days, than the few rules you'll follow to drive a story properly are enough to make of you an instant-genius. I don't buy it, but I can understand the need for a columnist to have the feeling he discovered something: there was a time when what LOOSE ENDS-crew is doing was the less you could expect from a comic-book. I'm looking at you David Lapham, for now, nobody have done better than STRAY BULLETS.

STRAY BULLETS definitely came to mind when I first saw this. When this is all said and done, I have hopes that LOOSE ENDS can stand alongside it.
