I guess asking why people still pay Liefeld to draw is like asking why people still pay Michael Bay to make movies. Some people will buy anything.
Now I'm not too certain about this. The story looks ok form these few pages but Liefeld's art still feels pretty problematic. Even the figure that lands in the hooded guy's arms looks very stiff and robotic. Where's the sense of animation?
Plus the proportions look just as unnatural as ever. Even for 'stylised realism'.
Might pick it up but whenever or not I'm going to bother with #2 is yet to be seen.

God bless Rob Liefeld and his limited artistic range.
Didn't we already see these exact same preview pages the last time we got an "exclusive preview" of this?
The art looks ridiculously awkward...which isn't surprising...but what's worse is that the writing comes off extremely awkward, too. I really enjoy Invincible and Walking Dead...but this reads very poorly...I went and checked to see if it said that Kirkman was plotting with Liefeld scripting...no dice. Yeargh.
That is one huge, steaming pile right there. Normally I would say something derisive towards Liefeld's art but Kirkman's writing is just as bad here.
kirkman should just stop this series before it even releases.
It will be a stain on his otherwise great body of work.
Also, why does every character have the same shape mouth with weird teeth in EVERY PANEL! Despite the fact that they are all saying different things with a range of different emotions?!?
sigh...
This is my first post on this forum, I've been a lurker for a while, but the dreadfulness of the images as well as the writing on those preview pages prompted me to register, sign in and leave a comment.
Robs art has improved over time, but it's still not what I'd consider anywhere near what's required to conjure an atmosphere. The poses are stilted, facial expressions cardboard. But I wouldn't expect anything more so I can't say that it disappoints me.
What really surprises me is the writing. I've been an admirer of Kirkman's work on The Walking Dead and enjoyed the interplay and dynamic relationships he's created between the characters. The dialogue here is wooden and uninspired.
I agree with the previous poster who suggested that Kirkman disassociate himself as quickly as possible from this work. In my opinion it reflects badly on him.
What. The. F**k. Is. This.
I thought Kirkman might be able to somehow make this work. I thought wrong. This looks awful, and it reads awful. It feels, somehow, like a poorly-dubbed, terribly shot movie -- like an episode of Power Rangers or something.
OK, maybe, MAYBE, if you want to go all meta and sh*t, MAYBE it's a time-travel book that is somehow about time-travelling back to the early-90's, hence, the former early-90's art superstar (shudder) Robby L, and the shoulder pads and all of that stuff. Yeah, that's it.
KIMOTAZAM!!
(like 'Zing!', only bigger and louder)
it's the adventures of Six-Pack Sweatshirt!!
god, this is awful...
It's funny how many are shocked by the stiff and awkward dialog. It's always been there. As much as I love The Walking Dead and Invincible, dialog has never been Kirkmans strong side.
Is it me or is Liefeld getting worse? I used to be a huge fan!

Yeah, I have to agree with that. Kirkman's dialogue never sounds the least bit natural. He loves the long-winded monologue too much.
I dunno, Walking Dead at least reads okay. I mean, it's not the kind of thing you'd always say out loud, but this hardly reads...
