On the plus side, Sturridge has been absolute class in the match. Very respectful, wish more players were like him.
What have I always believed? That, on the whole, and by and large, if a person lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out ok.

Definitely, fantastic respect for a former club. I wonder what Adebayor will be like?

Bolton as per usual played one half reasonably well and didn't turn up for the other. Eagles, Tuncay, Knight and Jussi should of started, Gardner should of been played at left-back. Davies was unlucky not to be given that goal and Eagles was unlucky with his shot, but on the other hand I also believe Chelsea took their foot off the gas and could of easily scored more especially in the first half.

Well done Chelsea and at least Bolton have a decent run of games coming up.

Rather we didn't have Meireles as deep-lying mid again though, it didn't really work. Other than that, KTBFFH.

Former England captain David Beckham is thought to favour a move to Tottenham rather than Paris St Germain when his contract with Los Angeles Galaxy expires at the end of the MLS season this month.

Paris St Germain and Inter Milan are ready to offer Carlos Tevez an escape route out of Manchester City in the January transfer window, but are not expected to bid more than £25m, substantially less than the £40m price tag City put on him in the summer.

Real Madrid are rumoured to be preparing a bid for Lille's Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard, a long-term target for Arsenal.

Liverpool are reportedly planning moves for Chelsea's Solomon Kalou and Manchester City's Adam Johnson in the January transfer window.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says he has "three or four years" left at the Old Trafford helm.

QPR midfielder Joey Barton has branded his former club Manchester City a "soap opera" and says the incident with Carlos Tevez reportedly refusing to play was "only a matter of time".

Everton are facing an FA investigation after home fans pelted Liverpool players with objects during the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Everton's Phil Neville claims the tackle made by Jack Rodwell that saw the midfielder sent off in the derby defeat against Liverpool would not even have been given as a foul only three years ago.

Under-fire Blackburn boss Steve Kean insists he will take the increasing criticism from fans "on the chin".

Liverpool right-back Martin Kelly is a shock contender for a place in the England squad for Friday's Euro 2012 qualifier in Montenegro.

Several Fulham players are said to be unhappy with the tactics employed by boss Martin Jol at Craven Cottage.

Nottingham Forest are likely to retain manager Steve McClaren rather than pay the £2m he would be entitled to if he is sacked.

Carlos Tevez has reportedly been "banned" from travelling home to Argentina ahead of his disciplinary hearing for allegedly refusing to play.

Outspoken Argentina legend Diego Maradona has branded Sir Alex Ferguson "a joke" for voicing his opinion over the Carlos Tevez saga. "Ferguson should not be talking about it because he became a big coach only after he got big players," slammed Maradona, who now who coaches Al Wasl in Dubai.

First time I've tried listening to Five Live in months, and Robbie fucking Savage is on. Why do the BBC pay this clown? I've lasted 5 minutes and it's going off.

Rather hope he goes to PSG, personally. I'll be getting a PSG shirt soon, and wouldn't mind having his name put on it.

It shouldn't have been a foul yesterday. His knee barely touched Suarez, if anything. It'll be a disgrace if that ban isn't overturned.

In a better world, Suarez would also get a ban for simulation.

No one''s told him about Aberdeen then?

Bristol City have parted company with manager Keith Millen.

The Robins have struggled to find form this season and are currently bottom of the Championship table with just six points from 10 games.

According to reports, Manchester City will be offered German international midfielder Sami Khedira plus cash by Real Madrid in exchange for Carlos Tevez.

Under-fire Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly planning a move for Ajax pair Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.

Spanish side Valencia are thought to be ready to to reignite their interest in Manchester United's out-of-favour forward Dimitar Berbatov.

Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola is rumoured to be monitoring Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsenal, Newcastle, Manchester City and Tottenham are all interested in signing French teenager M'Baye Niang, 16, from Caen according to reports in France.

Bolton are tracking Bordeaux striker Cheick Diabate and could make a move for the 23-year-old Mali international in January.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was branded "two bob" by Tottenham coach Clive Allen following Spurs 2-1 win in the north London derby on Sunday. Allen claims Wenger "refused to shake his hand", before adding: "He says he didn't see me or hear me, but he's two bob he is, two bob."

A Spanish referee has become a La Liga legend after slide tackling Sergio Canales during Valencia's 1-0 win over Granada.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has described Glenn Hoddle as "the most biased pundit around" after the Gunners were beaten by Spurs in the north London derby.

Mercurial QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt stormed off after being substituted at half-time in the disastrous 6-0 defeat at Fulham, then waited outside the ground for a bus.

He's possibly the best English right back in the league; how is that a shock he might get picked for his national side?

Nope, he's gone as is Keith Millen at Bristol City and both are examples of very good coach's becoming managers and being unable to make the step up, though obviously McLaren's form in Holland has to be noted.

The one thing about McLaren is how much it makes Billy Davies look like the bloody good manager he is. He had more money than Davies, and better resources and has taken Forest from the brink of promotion to a relegation battle. It's a pity to see two good clubs being fucked up by poor management.

There's the reason clubs want Beckham. Not for footballing reasons but for marketing reasons.

I had a nice day the other week with Five Live on and was enjoying some good commentaries and the lack of Alan Green til Robbie fucking Savage came on 606.

Now, I hate Alan Green but he was once a rather good radio commentator before he turned into an egotistical bigot, but Savage never proved himself as anything but a loudmouth. He's a waste of time and energy who never listens to any criticism of football or Sky, and also if I hear the line 'what do you know, you've never played the game' from his mouth I'll have to scream.

And we're paying his fucking wages.

Because nobody really cares about you Clive and you've always been a cock.

For a laugh, presumably. Szczesny has some ability but he's far too prone to howlers.

It's the way he turns the most innocuous point into an argument that does for me. A guy was on last night saying he thought that was one of Arsenal's better performances this season - which it was. Savage started screaming at him for some reason. Utter knob.

Or Phil Thompson on Sky. Jesus wept.
