I thought Liverpool remembered how to play for about five minutes, and yes, some of Chelsea's counter attacking was ok, but it was a game lacking in quality and entertainment.

They've choked but also what should be pointed out that teams have learned how to play against a very weak midfield, and I'm also surprised Ferguson allowed players to clearly think it was over before the season was done.

I have a horrible feeling that Rangers (or whatever they'll become) will escape punishment for committing possibly the biggest fraud in British sporting history and ripping off the taxpayer. McCoist's veiled threats are getting tiresome as well.

And that's fair enough, but "one moment of quality" isn't. Nitpicky, I know.

I heard someone on Talksport argue that they shouldn't have to start again because theyre Rangers and Scotish football needs the old firm.

It is and it's something the English league needs to pay attention to as this is a test case for the HMRC in regards to second contracts. If Rangers are found guilty (as many are saying) then the focus will move south of the border to the Premier League where this has been rumoured to have been going on for years but that's the long term. Right now it's starting to look like the campaign of intimidation has worked and SPL chairmen will vote to keep Rangers in the league as a newco.

Manchester City are offering Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, 28, a £250,000-a-week deal to lead their attack.

Everton are monitoring West Brom's soon-to-be out-of-contract defender Jonas Olsson. The 29-year-old is stalling on a new deal at the Midlands club.

Arsenal will make the first move in the race for Fulham striker Clint Dempsey, whose contract expires next summer.

Liverpool are lining up a bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent, 28, who is nearing a return to fitness.

Defender Carlos Cuellar, 30, looks to be on his way out of Aston Villa after bidding farewell to fans on Twitter, with his four-year contract expiring at the end of the season and no offer of a new deal.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to battle with Tottenham for Crewe's 18-year-old midfielder Nick Powell.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini finally admits his side are in pole position to win the Premier League after their 2-0 triumph at Newcastle.

Sir Alex Ferguson believes the "unethical" manner of Mark Hughes' sacking by Manchester City could help United in the title race - with City due to play QPR next weekend.

Frank Lampard has told Chelsea that Didier Drogba is irreplaceable and has urged the club to agree terms with the striker over a new contract.

Aston Villa fans failed to get their protests against manager Alex McLeish off the ground.

Chelsea defender John Terry says owner Roman Abramovich will have to hand the manager's job to Roberto di Matteo full time if he guides them to victory in the Champions League final.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish says he will discuss his Anfield future with the club's owners at the end of the season.

New Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski was forced to conduct his farewell lap for Cologne with a riot police escort as his final game for the club was overshadowed by ugly scenes.

Blackburn manager Steve Kean says he did not expect his team to be involved in another battle for Premier League survival this season.
Rovers, who escaped the drop with a 3-2 win at Wolves on the final day of last season, need to win their remaining two games to have a chance of staying up.
"I didn't expect it to come to this," said Kean, whose side host Wigan on Monday.

Rangers' administrators have denied turning down or dragging their heels over police requests for information about Craig Whyte's takeover.

Duff and Phelps said recent media reports had wrongly given the impression that paperwork had not been passed to the police.

The firm said no request had been "denied nor delayed in any way".

Strathclyde Police confirmed it had written to the administrator requesting relevant documentation be handed over.

Bill Miller has withdrawn his bid to buy Rangers. No detail yet, but looks like this mess has a way to run yet. Rangers only have enough money to last until the end of May - when the player wage cuts end and there's no income from match days - so if the Blue Knights are serious they'll need to get a move on.

I still think Miller was a front for someone, and on the Rangers tax case blog, that seems to be the theory as well. It's also becoming even more clearer that most of the SPL will vote a newco Rangers in which is going to unleash a torrent of fan protest that Rangers have essentially gotten away with it.

Unless of course, HMRC come down on them.
