Default Garv and Strata: Dryad Question

I know Strata is a Dryad and that females have metallic skin when they shed their rocky exterior. But, is Garv a male Dryad? I haven't seen anything telling me he is or isn't. Do males turn pink when they shed their rocky skin?

Garv's not a Dryad. I don't think it was ever addressed in L.E.G.I.O.N. what alien species he is, but it is compatable with a Dryad as he has a child with Strata. He's still one of my favorites, though.

Male Dryads look like Blok from Legion of Superheroes.

    Thanks, FanboyStranger!

I don't think it was even addressed in R.E.B.E.L.S. where I first saw them. They're two of my favorite DC characters, too.

It wasn't addressed in either R.E.B.E.L.S. series. It's one of things where I find the characters so likeable, that I'm just happy that they have one another, regardless if it really makes sense or not.

Comic book biology- overcomes death and genetics.

Garv's homeworld is given in an early issue of the latest R.E.B.E.L.S. series as Dryad

Then, on we go the Tony Bedard forum!!! Could a moderator please move this thread down there so we can ask the man himself? Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: Yes! So, Mr. Bedard, would you please explain the biology of the Dryads to me? I'm really interested. I know females turn all shiny and metallic when they mature, but do males turn pink and spongy? Why then is their kid pink like his dad if he's still so young? Did you rewrite the whole "rock shedding" phase of their maturity?

    Thanks a lot Mr. Bedard!

No pressure or anything, Mr. Bedard. If you never thought about it, that's alright. I was just curious.
