Nice information on Ultimate Fallout, what i actually really really wanna see is New York getting mass amount of new teenager heroes, because Peter's death shouldn't just insprie one person, it should inspire greatnes in all of us, we're all Spider-Man just like we're all Superman in our own way. I really dig those kinda things in superhero comics. Tho something like that happening in Ultimate Marvel would probably lead into something like Kick-Ass."Death of Spider-Man" may be over, but Bendis and Bagley will continue their latest Ultimate Universe collaboration with "Ultimate Fallout," a six-issue weekly miniseries that chronicles the aftermath of Spider-Man's death and features work by creators attached to the new line of Ultimate books, which launch in August and September. "People wanted more," Bendis conceded. "They wanted an epilogue, and I'm happy to say that 'Ultimate Fallout' #1, in stores July 13th, is by me, Mark Bagley and the entire creative team of 'Death of Spider-Man,' and it's exactly that. It's the entire cast of 'Ultimate Spider-Man' reacting to the nightmare that just happened, each in their own way. It also revolves around the funeral of Peter Parker. So a great deal happens. I believe there are 22 pages and at least 20 scenes. So a lot goes on."
For "Ultimate Fallout" #2 Bendis is paired with artist Gabriel Hardman ("Agents of Atlas," "Hulk"). "I was really thrilled about working with him," Bendis stated. "We do the framing piece, but then the story kind of opens up and Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer are coming in. They're doing chapters featuring their characters, which they're either coming into or have inherited from Mark Millar and Jeph Loeb. So we'll be closing some doors and opening others. There is some wonderful art in those chapters, too. Bryan Hitch did a chapter in issue #2 with Thor written by Jonathan Hickman."
In "Ultimate Fallout" #3 Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer lay more groundwork for their books: "Ultimate Comics: Ultimates," "Ultimate Comics: Hawkeye" and "Ultimate Comics: X-Men." Bendis and Bagley return, however, for issue #6. "Issue #6 will almost be entirely by me and Bagley again as we wrap up a lot of the storylines about some of the bigger characters in Spider-Man," Bendis said. "That includes Nick Fury, Mary Jane and Aunt May."
So excited for Fallout!
I must have had 300-400 Tweets already about the book to me. Everyone was responding about how emotional they were. None of it negative, which was startling.

"If you genuinely believe that only the death of a loved one can motivate a human being to take up a cause then get your pathetic, cynical ass out of my way so I can do my job!" ~ Daredevil
Great article. This hype is REALLY getting me excited...
Sums it up perfectly."Now we've got a character that though his death is tragic, his life isn't."
Also, did the title of this article scare anyone at first? I was REALLY afraid it was going to be about Peter coming back. But then:
"I'm as allergic to phony-baloney comic book deaths as anybody," the writer admitted. "I don't like them. I know I've been responsible for some, but not on purpose. So we couldn't pull any bullshit like Peter comes back with a metal arm and calls himself 'The Arachnid' or something like that. It would have to be that Peter passes and this new Spider-Man, who we'll talk more about at another time, steps forward."
I like Ultimate Comics. - Read them with us!
I also buy: Captain America, Avengers, FF, New Avengers, X-Factor, among others
Title didnt mess with me one bit, I dont even think of it as bring him back until I seen Plawsky's post.
Im really looking foward to the first issue I want know know what happens to May mostly.
I dont think it can be a question and answer type of thing though because everything is pretty much quite when it comes to whats next. So i dont think we will know anythign until it get started.
Did bends really just say marvel didn't sell the comic digitally ame that helped retailers? Because I'm pretty sure I bought mine on the iPad app at around 11AM
Sound interview...but the funeral already? I'd have saved that for the final issue really
It was a good article for the most part. Bendis never makes a secret about how passionate he is about his work and that's something I definitely respect.
However, I don't respect hypocrisy. Even when he admits he's part of it. When he said he was against "phony baloney deaths" as he calls them, I raise an eyebrow because he's the same guy who killed Gwen Stacy and Norman Osborn only to bring them back in a way that I personally think was a pretty phony. To say he's against it while he did it under duress is still hypocrisy. Making excuses and glossing over it doesn't make it okay. I find it hard to get excited about a book that's based on a replacement character.
Another area I found confusing was when he described how Ultimate went from laying the groundwork to just being a place where they could tell stories they couldn't tell in 616. What exactly was their thought process? Is that really all Ultimate is good for? If so then I find that to be a pretty terrible reason if not downright moronic. There's a reason why some of these stories don't work in 616. It's because they're bad ideas. If you pitched killing Spider-Man in 616, chances are you'll get laughed out of the room. I don't see how allowing those same bad ideas to be told in Ultimate does the series any good. I know I belabor this point, but I really can't wrap my head around it. Who says Marvel has to just ultimize every 616 story? When was it ever a policy to simply copy and not just draw inspiration from? As someone who wastes much of his time writing bad fanfiction, I find that to be a bad policy.
I do want to see the aftermath in Ultimate Fallout. But I'm still finding it hard to care about an Ultimate universe where we're getting a replacement Spider-Man and one too many instances of hypocrisy.

I'm still skeptical that Peter Parker is D-E-A-D.
I still think it would have been better to have the 'Death of Spiderman' being that his identity would be known and then write stories around that. How he would be Avenger in training. Ultimate Nick Fury always helped him out of a jam because he knew Pete would kick arse as he got older.
If Peter is really dead then looks like I save myself $4 a month now. Totally not interested in someone else being Spiderman.
It worked for Batman because Dick was Robin for so long, similar to Bucky-Cap. But what about a Foggy-DD? or Dakota North DD? Hmm how about a Jack Power - Mr Fantastic? Or a Jarvis - Hawkeye?
We'll see in a few months where we are.
Well, assuming Bendis is telling the truth about about him hating phoney-baloney comic book deaths, then Peter is in fact dead for good. The only possible way to get around this at this point and still have Peter be Spider-Man is to have it be that the Peter we've been following for the last 2 years was really the Scorpion and he is the one who is now dead, while the real Peter Parker spent this time at the Triskelion recovering from his woulds inflicted during Ultimatum.
Not the best plot, but it would serve as an Ultimatization of a 616 story.

At the time I saw this as a hint that Peter won't in fact die. Hard to say, though. I find it extremely weird that he would put a future fun fact in there. He literally went out of his way to do that, so it's not like it's an oversight. Had all the fun facts been of the future then I'd say that one slipped in by mistake, but it was there by itself and Bendis made a point to let us know that Peter Parker would achieve this test score in the future.
There is, of course, the possibility that it was in fact a clue and it still holds up. This is a comic book so of course there's always a way to bring him back or make it so he never died in the first place. I trust if Bendis goes this route he'll do it tastefully.
