Box Office Hits you disliked

A compliment to the ongoing thread with the opposite premise.

A few movies that come to mind that I didn't like that were popular or critical hits.

Top Gun, I kept saying WTF? the story didn't make sense. (yeah, the flying scenes were cool.)

Scarface, The Hip-Hop crowd loves this movie, I thought it was over the top nonsense with scenery chewing performance from Pacino.

The English Patient, I did not care about the lead characters, thought they were selfish assholes. So why would I care what happens to them. The nurse and the Indian guy were more interesting.

On rule for this thread, No Avatar. I get it, you hated it, you thought it was a lousy, stupid movie.

Okay, I am not trying to disallow Avatar as much as acknowledge that it will be mentioned again and again and again and again.....

As I said, we get it, there is a legion of people who did not like Avatar. It 's getting old and boring.

So let's move past Avatar. I don't think a thread with 100 post that say Avatar will be all that interesting. If that is the only movie you can mention, why bother.

Twilight - just teenie bopper movies.

I Am Legend - Will Smith just does not do it for me.I would rather the writers had stuck to a great story.

Night at the Museum - Ben Stiller just sucks!

War of the Worlds - Tom Cruise? Tim Robbins was the only scene stealer.

Hancock - Will Smith again!

Planet of the Apes - Marky Mark has had some good screen moments but not in this movie.....The casting and story was left lacking.

The new James Bond movies - The first was okay but the second was a mess.I hope there is not a third or more in our future. Daniel Craig is a decent actor but he is no James Bond.

I also have not found any Adam Sandler movies funny.

Transformers, all of them. The second and third Twilight movies. (i kinda like the first one for some reason)

Oh and the 4th and 5th Harry Potter movies were quite poor too.

Armageddon - one of the first movies I remember where I was swept up by the hype, only to want my money back when it ended.

Night at the Museum - Ben Stiller just sucks!

Ordinarily I would agree with you about Ben Stiller, but both Night at the Museum films had enough of an ensemble cast that he was able to raise his game and actually be good in them.

And "Night at the Smithsonian" had the added advantage of Amy Adams as Amelia Erhardt in those wonderful, butt hugging flyers pants. She was extremely hot as Amelia. I just loved her.

The Godfather/mafia movies (I grew up around that stuff, I don't need to see it on a screen)

Michael Bay's Transformers
