Thanks Phil, never knew those existed.

Slam, I have a charcoal grill, they are banned because the wind is been high and the grass is so dry it wouldn't take much of a spark to fly out the grill and start a fire. I believe however that propane grills are okay, but I have no inclination to grill on such an apparatus. Grilling is what charcoal if for.

I grill about 6 nights a week in the summer. I wouldn't have time to deal with that much charcoal.

Yeah lol and quite expensive too. I usually only grill once on the weekend, so I don't mind not using propane. Not that it tastes any different, to me, I just enjoy the actually cooking with charcoal as much as I do eating the food. Propane's just like cooking on the gas stove top.

    Hey Prince Hal

Thanks for clearing up the Video Village/Shenanigans game show. Kenny the Cop was the dorkist policeman ever on TV

I finally got that song with the caveman in the airport from the Geico commercial...the music from the ad kicks in from about 0:47. Dedicated to all comics pre-1980....

I remember Officer Joe Bolton. He was on in the New York area. I don't remember Kenny the Cop. Anybody who remembers both Joe and Kenny want to comment about who was dorkier?

Officer Joe Bolton was the host (1955-1970) of the NYC afternoon kids program that played 3 Stooges films. He would always warn you not to duplicate what the Stooges did but us kids were not that stupid. I give him props for knowing how to twirl his baton as he walked
Kenny the Cop from Shenanigans can be seen on the You Tube clip I embedded earlier. He was responsible for all the disrespect police recieved in the late 60s thru 70s from kids grown up thinking all cops were total buffoons. Officer Joe Bolton worked hard to reverse the damage Kenny created. Kenny passed away while attempting to clean his gun with his tongue

Here's the only picture I could find for Kenny the Cop. The story goes that he found a ticking time bomb on the set during the filming of Shenanigans. Even though the bomb was clearly marked as such, Kenny asked a cameraman to hold it for him. The resulting explosion wrecked the studio forcing Shenanigans cancellation. The incident inspired the time bomb sequence in the 1966 Batman movie.

    According to Wikipedia:

"Kenny Williams, born Kenneth Williams Fertig, (1914–February 1984) was an American television announcer from the late 1940s to 1980s. He was best known as the announcer of many game shows produced by Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley (including Hollywood Squares, High Rollers, Gambit and others). He also appeared on screen as "Kenny the Cop" on Video Village and Shenanigans. He did one show for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions, Two for the Money, in 1952. As a radio actor in the 1940s to 1950s, he appeared on shows like X Minus One where he played Rhysling on The Green Hills of Earth. He was also one of the announcers for the Buck Rogers radio program, among others."

    No bomb story, though.

The only true bomb story of that kind that I know is the one which cost silent comedian Harold Lloyd a couple of fingers. During a photo op, Lloyd grabbed a prop bomb from a table of like props (a classic bolshevik bomb, like a cannonball with a long, white fuse). Lloyd lit the fuse using a cigarette clenched between his teeth, and then held the pose for a photo. At the last instant, he decided it wouldn't make for a good picture, and lowered the bomb away from his face. It promptly exploded, severely injuring Lloyd, who had presumed it to be a dummy. Had he held the pose, it likely would have taken off an appreciable portion of his head and preemptively robbed film lovers of his greatest work, the ironically-titled "Safety Last."

Time Bomb was another Milton Bradley game that was showcased on Shenanigans. In the 5th Grade we played this game on the last day of school and I was the last man standing.

We have a charcoal grill and I can't stand it. It's such a pain and hard to control the temperature so you really have to watch it. My girlfriend has a gas grill and I love it. So much easier to use.
