Gunwalking was the name for a strategy used by the ATF as part of sting operations.

It involved selling guns to dealers who illegally resold them in Mexico.

The problem is that cumulatively around 2,000 guns were on-sold into Mexico without many dealers being arrested as a result.

Despite the fact that the program started in 2006, it somehow proves Eric Holder is plotting to take away Americans' guns or to arm a secret army of Mexican illegal immigrants or something.

Of course, if you follow standard right-wing American logic, more guns in Mexico should lead to less crime there.

A minor correctin the Dealers sold the guns at the direction of the DEA to peole who the DEA susected of trading in weapons illegally

Holder gets flack because until after he cam it the guns were always tracked stopped north of the Border, but was changed to try and track them track them after they crossed the border, and that proved impossible. He also gets a lot of flak from the way the DEA and Justice tried to cover their asses.

The operation was turned from a reasonable risk situation to one that ran completely out of control.

It would have been a minor thing if people were not found to have been murdered by guns they let cross the border
