THIRUVANANTHAPURAM — A treasure trove of gold and silver jewelry, coins and precious stones said to be worth billions of dollars has been found in a Hindu temple in southern India, officials said on Saturday.

The valuables have an estimated preliminary worth of over 500 billion rupees ($11.2 billion), said Kerala Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar, catapulting the temple into the league of India's richest temples.

The thousands of necklaces, coins and precious stones have been kept in at least five underground vaults at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple which is renowned for its intricate sculptures.

"We are yet to open one more secret chamber which has not been opened for nearly 140 years," Jayakumar told AFP.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser grabbed the microphone of a local FOX6 reporter who asked him about allegations that he grabbed fellow justice Ann Walsh Bradley by the throat on June 13.

He quickly gave the microphone back, but refused to answer any questions about the incident.

Prosser was reportedly asked to attend anger management classes during a June 15 meeting with Wisconsin Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs.

E. coli outbreaks in Germany and France could have come from seeds sourced in Egypt, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has said.

A report said there was still "much uncertainty", but fenugreek seeds imported in 2009 and 2010 "had been implicated in both outbreaks".

More than 4,000 people were infected during the German outbreak, 48 died.

Yup, and I looked at a few other interviews EDL members made on programmes and they all come out looking like idiots, but the uploader (normally an EDL supporter) spins it as some sort of amazing victory.

It's depressing news stories like that which makes me think that we'd all be better off if we were never born. Because it illustrates how fucked up and unfair the world--or perhaps I should say human civilization--is.

The clerics had ignored a police summons to be questioned over endorsements for “The King’s Doctrine,” a book written by a more obscure settler rabbi offering justifications from scripture for killing innocent gentiles during religious war.

“They commandeered the car and took it away, together with my dad, to an undisclosed destination,” Rabbi Yosef’s son Yonatan told Israel Radio.

I'm surprised that he's surprised. But then again, you have to have your head pretty far up your ass to support the killing of innocent children of any race. So maybe I shouldn't be surprised that Yonatan there is so stupid as to assume that you can just ignore a summons like that and the authorities will say "Damn, he hasn't showed up! Oh well, there's nothing else we can do, and it's not that important anyway."
