I wonder when Jim Shooter will weigh in talking about how he was Gene's biggest fan and blaming the "misunderstandings" that led to Colan moving to DC on Bill Mantlo.

    Default Great obit

The first comic I ever read was a Tomb of Dracula that my late sister, Kim, bought for me. I was four and thought Dracula was Batman. Gene Colan's work always reminded me of the old noir films of the 40s, full of atmosphere and very sexy.

Great warts-and-all obit by Georg Khoury. Nice work.
