Hmmm, I was reading my Authority trades the other day and the paper/printing is quite different to what you would get in a trade now. The ones I have used a sort of black paper and the reproduction isn't stellar, I reckon the HCs would be a lot better than what I have ATM. Its no Absolute Authority but it is a tenth of the price.

I misinterpreted when you said, "...it's a book that needs to be read multiple times if for that last issue alone..." and thought you meant you need to re-read it because it's difficult. I assume you think the last issue is particularly spectacular, then?
    Sorry for the misunderstanding

    Question before watchmen?

apologies if this has already been discussed but i couldnt find it anywhere.

i have not picked up the before watchmen singles and i am debating pre-ordering the collected editions because even though the titles are paired by author, there are one shots missing correct?

additionally, and more importantly, i am going in unsure of the order in which to read them, as well as presuming that i want high quality pages \ printing and sizes due to the artists i like and subject involved.

anyway has anyone heard anything about an omnibus or at least a deluxe version on the way that contains everything (preferably in order) -- or better yet an absolute version? i emailed and tweeted dc comics but didnt hear back.

    thanks

Considering they just announced the deluxe hardcovers, it will be a long time before they even decide to make an omnibus (likely) or absolute (less likely). If DC doesn't have an answer, neither does anyone else.

I'm pretty sure all will be included. DC solicitations are somehow wrong most of the time and they'll probably include the 2 Moloch issues and the Dollar Bill oneshot. These books will be deluxe editions.

Given DC have been pretty good keeping Absolutes in print I can not understand why Authority or Planetary haven't.

You mean the Curse of the Crimson Corsair? That's already mentioned in the title of the 4th book Here's the link to DC's announcement http://www.dccomics.com/blog/2012/12...nd-august-2013 Everything Before Watchmen will be included in those 4 books, including Moloch and Dollar Bill. All 4 books are Deluxe Editions, so will be oversized.

We've got a new publisher in the Netherlands that will start publishing DC/Vertigo books. They've just released their first announcement for the next few months and one of the books is an Absolute The Killing Joke. I really wonder how that will turn out, since... well... there aren't many pages to begin with and to slipcase that would seem a little odd. The slipcase would be thicker than the book probably

Lol what?!?! That's... incredible! But it'd make Absolute Rebirth look as thick as the IC omnibus! Either way, I'd buy it if it wasn't 100 retail. Any links?
